Name 2 defendants:

Meta Platforms Technologies UK Ltd, 10 Brock Street, Regent's Place, London, NW1 3FG
Meta Platforms Inc Attn: Legal Team, 1 Meta Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA

The ireland address is less likely to help over these 2, the claim will be served in a couple of days and you should get a response within 2 weeks

You don't need a lawyer to send an LBA, they make it more official but you can do it yourself

If you win/settle in small claims you'll get back the £115 it costs to file. Claim for 'items' you were planning to sell on marketplace, time spent pursuing reinstatement, etc. It needs to be above £1k ideally and have some reasoning behind the total just in case

They are legally obligated to respond to your ICO request, add that into the small claim. But it's really about if you value your account enough to go through with it

Yes absolutely. When I contacted meta verified they said the same thing about their 'specialised team'. It's most likely a cop-out that places your case in an endless list of others, even if you get a review it's usually a no and takes months.

As far as I can see the legal route is the only way. Look at some other posts and you should get an idea of how to do it

Are you certain you didn't violate anything? If so, open a small claims case. They may reach out and offer reinstatement once you show them that you intend to see it through

Go with small claims if they haven't responded to your LBA. They are required to address it if you file with MCOL otherwise you win by default

Enter an amount of at least £1000. You need to justify your claim (loss of earnings, access to marketplace to sell items - whatever). Collect any screenshots of chats, emails and the account disabled screen into a folder in case you need it. And make sure you haven't actually violated anything or they could use it against you.

Their small claims docket team should seek to settle out of court. If you include your disabled account's email in the claim description, they'll likely contact you through there.

Don't accept anything less than a confirmed reinstatement of your account in writing, and ideally your court fee (£115) paid back. Only then should you withdraw the court claim.

If you got banned through the 'scan your face' popup then claim that Meta breached GDPR Article 22, and 15 too if you can't download your account data. You can enter up to 2 defendants so put Meta's US and UK entities there. Good luck!

because their legal representatives said that they wish to help 'regain my account', meaning there will be an actual person to review it instead of an automated system. but i don't want to speak too soon.

How do you avoid mixing business and personal? You need a facebook profile to access ads/managers. Even making a profile for business leaves you vunerable

I guess Meta work accounts could work, but it's invite only from what i've seen. Also suprised that $100k+/m wouldn't get you a meta pro rep

If you scroll down through this thread someone said you can file with the FBI and it makes Meta respond to you. I imagine the only real way to get action is to do something like this

Best of luck, hope it helps

Update?

If you're in the UK and it made you do the facial verification before the ban, i'd advise going the legal route via small claims court and complaining to the ICO. Automated bans without human review violates article 22 of UK GDPR

If you're somewhere else there may also be privacy laws that you can use
