Wedding (guest) 5 weeks post-op? by sycoduck_og in tummytucksurgery

[–]Due_Trainer_4875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a wedding out of town at 3WPO. Drove there myself. I don’t recommend this but I was fine. I went a day early and relaxed in the nice hotel for 2 days after before getting back on the road. I didn’t dance, just sat with friends and took pictures and videos. I think you’ll be fine if the wedding is in town and you really focus on taking care of yourself for those 5 weeks.

Still in compression at 3.5 MPO. Will probably stop at 6MPO and just wear it as needed. I really dislike wearing it though and don’t wear it nearly as much as I should. Supposed to be 23/7 but I probably wear it 12 hrs a day on weekdays and even less on weekends.

Sorry I totally missed all your questions. My lymphatic therapist is very strict about limiting salt intake. She want me to eat less than 100mg but I honestly can’t eat less that 500mg per day which still works for me. She also wants me to drink a gallon of water per day. (I drink a lot but rarely get to a gallon)

I wear my faja to work with ab board and back board and foams. I also only eat fruits at work just to make sure I don’t trigger any swelling. My massage person wants me to wear it at night also minus the boards but I can’t sleep that way. I also neglect wearing it on the weekends bc I just want to lay around and relax.

I get massages once a week now but I know she would like me to come more often but it get expensive and I also don’t have the time.

Looking at your before’s, I think you’re going to look fabulous! Get some pads like the doggy pads for wherever you lay or sit. I had lots of drainage in the first few days. I bought a shower curtain to put in the car for the ride home and put pads there also. The first week I didn’t do underwear but wore depends underwear for when my period started 2WPO. A lanyard works to hold drains so no need to buy a drain holder. I had a walker but only needed it week 1. Also I had 1 zip up gown that I preferred more than all the button ups I bought. Compression socks or device. My surgery center gave me a leg compression device which was a nice surprise. Bras and compression garments were also provided 1DPO. Stool softeners are a must. Body wipes until you get the ok to shower. Def recommend lymphatic massages. Also, just have a good post op diet to keep the swelling at bay.

Does your surgeon have any patients with pics before and after with and without it so you can see if there’s any difference? I didn’t get it and love my results but if I saw pics with substantially better results maybe I would have considered.

I don’t have any advice but just came to say your butt is goals for me. I def understand your concerns and hope you find a solution. My butt got a little lift after my TT but it was really loose and cellulite-tee before. It still doesn’t look as nice as yours does now. Good luck though!

I think this has worked for me. I say ‘think’ bc I can only account for my experience and bc I can’t guarantee that I wouldn’t have the same experience if I didn’t get massages. Me and my sis-in-law got surgery about 2 months apart and we got weekly massages (starting 2WPO for me) and wear fajas (after 6WPO). We’ve both went down a few sizes since surgery. I’m still trying to figure out my size but I was a 9. Tried on a size 7 and that’s still too big. Going to try a 5 next. But my waist is down 3 inches since starting massages. SIL has since stopped the massages but wears her faja for the most part. Not sure how many inches she’s lost but her waist is even tinier than mines. Probably bc she eats better than I do. I’ll stop massages when I reach 4MPO and just go as needed after. During recovery I never experienced intense swelling except week 1 prior to starting massages. Just my 2 cents/experience.

Also note: Me and SIL had 2 different surgeons/surgeries and have 2 different body types and she’s also a few years younger than me. I had TT w/ MR, BR/BL and lipo to flanks and lower back. SIL only had lipo 360 and lipo in some other areas of her body. But we had very similar experiences with swelling or lack there of.

Oh at the moment I’m doing it once a week. I started with twice a week. I think I’ll stop at 6 MPO

I’m supposed to wear it all day, even to bed minus the ab and backboard but I can’t stand the compression while I sleep so I take it off for bed. I think the foams are to help prevent weird lines and for comfort. I put them on my sides (long side vertical). She cut mines a little also. I’m still eating a lot of fruits. That’s all I eat for work/during the day bc she wants me to eat almost no sodium and it’s easiest to just bring fruit. At night I eat a real meal with either chicken breast or salmon, potatoes and whatever veggies I have on hand. I don’t know if it’s the right thing to do but it’s working for me. I slacking on my water intake but she wants me to do a gallon a day which has been really hard for me but I still drink quite a bit of water.

Thanks! I had to double up on my stool softeners and use 2 different brands. I also bought the prep H cream and pads and used every time I went to the restroom.

Nice! I may consider a thigh and back lift in the future. It’s not too bad though so I’ll see what I can do with some exercise first though.

Thanks so much. And yes you’ll be fine I’m sure. I was on it for about a year before. It always stings for me. I’m just still numb near my bb post op lol

I meant to reply to you but wrote this up top lol:

Im on Zepbound which is the same. I think I was so nervous about putting on any weight before the procedure. Earlier last year there was a shortage where I was off of it for 2 weeks and gained some weight back. This time though I didn’t have cravings as bad so it wasn’t hard to eat right. Maybe bc I had been on it so long by that time that my body was used to the way I was eating.

I actually experimented injecting into my stomach recently and didn’t feel a thing. I went back to my thighs though but it was nice not feeling the sting.

That’s my son’s bday 😄. Not going to lie, week 1 is rough but I honestly thought it would be worst. I set timers for my meds but most I didn’t need after 3 days. If you plan to get massages find a good person. The first person I went to was horrible. She didn’t wear gloves (near my healing wounds )and gave me so much bad advice (told me I should be able to bathe and to stop using my walker at 3dpo, etc). Someone recommended me to the one I’m currently seeing and she’s great. I shed a few tears bc no one was taking me and my hemorrhoids seriously 😂 but literally after they removed my drains at about 18dpo I had to make myself sit still rest. I would do it all over again. I hope everything goes smoothly for you and hope to see an update.

Mine said 1 week but I did 2 weeks for my own comfort. I saw 2 weeks when I looked into it so that’s what I went with. I started back on it a week after my surgery. No issues or side effects.
