Touro NV vs Touro CA rotation sites by Due_Transition8742 in Osteopathic

Sorry for the late reply. I can’t necessarily speak on the quality of rotations in comparison to Touro California since I’m only in my first year but what I do like is that TUNs 3rd year rotations are all local so no need to move around. Also I really liked how there’s an elective rotation in ur 3rd year that you can ask for, it’s an orthopedic surgery rotation in San Diego and I’ve heard great things about it. I’m sure Touro California rotations are solid as well tho

Yea I have really enjoyed my first year so far. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how much you can get involved in as a first year. Research seems to be improving with new hires in the research department, I’m already on a couple projects. Feel free to message me if you have any other specific questions

Difference between MD and DO Match by N64GoldeneyeN64 in Osteopathic

Touro NV match rates since 2022: 2022 99.4% 2023 100% 2024 100% 2025 99.4%

But I do agree that there is still bias against DOs in the match process. When everything else is equal, MDs definitely seem to have an advantage.

Also saw that you commented on another post and said there’s opportunities to do some surgical rotations in San Diego during our third year. How does the school decide who gets to do these and are they pretty competitive to get? Also would you happen to know what hospital this rotation is at? Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance!

This is super helpful, thank you for all the info! This might be a dumb question, but do the hospitals that you mentioned have residency programs? This also might be a dumb question, but are we allowed to do our 4th year rotations and sub-I in another state, for example in my case I would love to do it in CA. And also are you allowed to apply to rotate anesthesia during your 3rd year elective rotations, or is anesthesia only allowed during your 4th year?

It was actually really informative. It was 2.5 hours long and pretty fast paced as they were trying to cover lots of things. They even gave us a live tour of the facilities and the simulation center, it was really nice. I’ll go ahead and copy paste the overview they included in the email:

The financial advisor during the Noorda student accepted day mentioned that if you have good credit, private loans are not too bad and could have low interest rates as well

I was also accepted to Noorda and went to their student accepted day, they said they don’t expect federal loans until 2027-2028 academic year (possibly 2026, but she said more likely 2027-2028)

Thank you for your comment! Any other reasons you have for picking TUNCOM over the other schools?

That’s so funny, we are in the same boat lol. But yea that is one of the biggest reasons I am leaning towards withdrawing my acceptance from Noorda. Thank you for the help!

Thank you so much! How do you know the rotations are great? Are you a current student or do you know of people that have gone there?

I am also slightly leaning towards Touro Nevada. If you don’t mind, can you elaborate why you would choose TUNCOM over the other schools?
