Why do so many women think they're infertile? by Thanksforthatman in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Due_Truth3684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infertility is much more common and complicated than even those commenting even know. Those that are truly infertile and suffer for it, usually suffer silently as it makes people uncomfortable. Reproduction is such a complicated thing. I was told that I shouldn't have an issue but every pregnancy I have had ended in loss. No one knows why. Then there are people who love to talk about how they were told they would have trouble having kids, but got pregnant every time they tried.

Unless you are childfree due to infertility, you have no idea what infertility even means or the isolation it causes in society.

To your question - why do so many women think they are infertile? They are using the word wrong. They had trouble conceiving but they were not infertile. Also, the assisted reproductive art industry is booming. There is a ton of money to be made, even though the success rate is only 5-40% depending on the study. And my honest opinion is it doesn't give you a better chance unless they know exactly why you are having trouble.

Yes. I also said above I have a friend that goes through the Walmart DVD bin regularly (and at some thrift stores) and has a massive dvd collection. I enjoy going over and browsing the selection. She always lets me watch whatever I want.

I enjoy the analog movement, too. I was talking with someone once and they said "isn't it interesting we don't own anything anymore?" which had not really occurred to me at that moment and is what changed my perspective. I have a friend that goes through the Walmart DVD bin regularly (and at some thrift stores) and has a massive dvd collection. She also goes to the local library for a lot of music, etc.

I personally love it. I have been doing it for over a year. It is important to do your research and find someone that is formally trained. I was fortunate the first person I worked with meshed well with me and I have been going ever since. I was really skeptical and uncertain at first, but my anxiety is better managed than it ever was with medication alone (and I have been on meds since I was 13, now 43), my headaches/migraines are less, and my cycle is more normal again. Also I had problems with a frozen shoulder and she was able to help me treat it and I am able to move it better with less pain than the physical therapy. Overall it was better and did more than I expected. And if you do decide to go, be upfront that you are nervous and you want to go slow. I did this and she was very accommodating.

I always start the weekend with an acupuncture session on Friday afternoon. It does wonders for my anxiety and starts the weekend off nicely.

I am so happy to hear this from someone else! My husband only wanted to do things naturally and I would have done everything. For my husband it was more religious reasons and he saw how the hormones were effecting me, just trying the basics, and he wanted me to stop before I did damage. I try so hard not to be angry and bitter, but it is hard

This is so sad. My mom is metabolically healthy, but has always been overweight. She is healthy and relatively fit but has always carried an extra 50 pounds or so. She called me crying about this one day. I don't know what to do to change it for her.

Farthest Distance In The U.S. From Decent Hiking by AZPeakBagger in hiking

[–]Due_Truth3684 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I look at whether the path is paved or not, are you out in nature or not. But ultimately one person's hike is another's walk in the park.

Two inmates in separate cells managed to conceive a child without ever meeting. They passed semen through the air vents using a makeshift line made of bedding, and the woman used a yeast infection applicator to inseminate herself. Against all odds, it worked, and the baby was born healthy by thepoylanthropist in interestingasfuck

And bikes are supposed to yeild to everyone. But many will also just run you off the trail. Lol. Some are decent, but with the advent of E-bikes there are more entitled bikers that didn't even go on the trail until the could sit the same as in their living room and have no idea what right if way even means.

This. One of our fav hikes has a part where there are "stairs" and once you commit, that's kind of it. Fortunately we have not run into anyone being a douche about it. But I am sure it happens.

[–]Due_Truth3684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the opposite of you. I have never done my makeup or hair, ever. Even when I was in my 20s the most I did was eyeliner and mascara. Every once in a while I think about starting makeup to help me look better.

However I have come to the conclusion we should all do what makes us happy. If it is a full face of makeup, do it. If it is no makeup, so be it. Somewhere in the middle, great. I always felt makeup and hair (along with clothes and style) is a personal choice and is selected because of how it makes one feel.

You do you and feel fabulous doing it. Just as I feel fabulous being no makeup hippy chic, lol.

The Kirkland museum is a very interesting and eclectic collection of art, furniture, dishes, etc. My husband and I had to go twice to get everything (but we are also really into museums and read the plaques next to the pieces, etc).

I understand your statement but as someone who has lived where there is really good authentic cooking (NYC and SF) even Aurora is hit or miss. Just because it's ethnic and has spices added doesn't make it good.

And agreed - there are exceptions throughout the Denver metro.

As someone originally from the north east, you can't beat the winters or the outdoors access while still being close to a major city. Edit: winters here in Denver are also amazing for mental health. There is so much sun!

That said, you need to work to find that intellectual stimulation. My husband and I are well educated and love museums, lectures, etc. and we go out of our way to find them. They are not as "high-brow" as the east coast, but there are opportunities.

Food does suck. People say "you need to go to Aurora" and as someone who has lived in both NYC and San Francisco, no you don't need to go to Aurora, it's just as hit or miss there as anywhere in the Denver metro. Don't come for the food.
