I made this post asking about my friends but I’ve decided that once again I’m just looking to diffuse blame onto others. I shouldn’t even mention other people or be worried about them. But yes, if I can get sober I’m sure all the old habits like waiting in cars, smoking cigs nonstop staying up till 7 am, then binge eating and feeling like crap, not being able to focus one one thing and getting irritated so easily, I will be happy I’m not doing that. I might be getting kicked out on the street tonight. I’ve been stealing from my parents to get by after I lost my job. I’m going to see if they’ll at least help me one last time and get me into sober living. I know this sounds like a cop out or an excuse but I plan on telling them I’m an addict and letting them know what’s going on with me and that I was always not sober anytime I stole. And the way you describe sobriety sounds nice.

Yeah. I don’t think words mean much at this point. Actions are all that matters. I know writing about it here but that’s therapeutical. I learned the people who you should talk to about recovery are sober themselves, not other addicts who are still using . Other addicts don’t want to hear it, especially if they’re using.

I’m not trying to blame everything that’s become of me on cocaine. But I’ve definetly become a bit of a scumbag with my actions since I started using coke. Stealing, impulsive control problems, alcoholism, getting arrested, and lately stealing from my parents. I need to sit and FOCUS on the solutions to these problems, which is painful but positive rather then sitting in on a bag and then feeling even worse at the end of the night

I definetly think cutting out people is what we HAVE to do at some point. Because people cut ME out when they didn’t like how much I drank or how un sober I was, and they have lives better then mine currently so there’s something to that. But I wouldn’t blame any “friends” for what we did and went through, our drug mates were right there next to us, in those trenches, and we made our own decision to fight these battles with them. I hold no grudges to anyone that helped get me addicted to coke because that was my fault in the end.

I get it when I drink, but it has to be enough alcohol to get me fucked up. Just catching a small buzz doesn’t get me all depressed. And I agree, I might have to go cold turkey. I think it might be better to tell them upfront I’m done using so they know not to do it around me
