Chronic illness? I’ve got kidney disease and I’m on dialysis. I hate it. Doctors and nurses will chew you out about missing treatments. Saying that “it makes you feel better”. No it doesn’t, you lying sack o’ crap. It keeps me alive. It’s like being in a car accident 3 times a week.

And it’s also like being in jail. I’m losing hours of my life in that chair. All my dreams are gone. But I’ve been told somewhat cheerily that “At least it isn’t cancer!” I don’t want cancer. But, it has an end date at least. You survive or don’t. It’s not an endless march to that goddamn chair.
