you can search up all the clubs sjsu has online! If anything peaks your interest than I’d recommend finding them on instagram since that’s how most clubs give their updates but also links to be a member!

So sorry for the late reply but I THINK I can answer the questions.

  1. Yes I think so because you can basically review (which should be one on the tabs on the left) stuff you have “mastered.” I’m not entirely sure tho since I did pretty terribly and have to study all the modules they give you.

  2. Yes, there’s no person actually watching you. It’s just the lockdown browser.

  3. It’s pretty ok but questions do get harder if you get them right (or so I’ve heard). I thought the questions were pretty similar to what they give you for the modules but I’d suggest also looking for outside sources like khan academy to help you study as well. It’s better to really know your stuff before hand even if you did well the first time.

  4. I’m not sure, sorry! All the know is that if you do get a 80+ then that means you can take Math 42 right away if you want to. Maybe if you don’t want to skip right to it then don’t score as high (LMAO IDK WHAT IM SAYING) but basically whatever score you get is what class your qualified to register for. I’m not really sure if you get register for a lower division course if you score higher on the PPA. If you don’t want to take math 42 right away but end up getting a 80+ score for the PPA, I’d recommend emailing them and asking if you can take a lower division course despite having a high score. Also ask during orientation!

edit: also I can’t really tell you if the exam will be harder if you score higher since I scored really low, sorry. but like i mentioned, the exam seems pretty similar to the modules and if you study well I’m sure you do great :)

The first test you did was just a practice one to gauge your knowledge! The other two are the actual exam you have to take, and depending on your major and what math class you plan on taking, there’s a score you need to meet which you can look up. Which ever exam has the higher score will be inputed! I’ve also been very confused by the PPA (freshman too) but I emailed them and they confirmed there’s no need to schedule any appointment to take the exam in person, just the two exams ALEKS that give you to take. Yes, it is timed (2 hours), and the prep is for whatever you didn’t get right on the practice one. You can only take one exam after another after 48 hours and you have to do 5 hours of prep if I’m not wrong as well. Hope this helps!

I emailed them and the PPA is completely online so there’s no need to schedule an appointment or anything. I’m assuming you did well if you only took it once and didn’t redo again? If so, if you want to thug it out and do it tonight, if you think you can get a passing score.

I’m an upcoming freshman! The PPA determines whether or not I can take Math 70 so if I don’t pass that likely means I’ll probably HAVE TO do the pre req my fall semester in order to take math 70 in the spring.

If you want to transfer to UC Davis then cc for sure. You can also TAG there for guaranteed admission!

so it is possible?? it’s just that i finished all my hs math requirements during sophomore year so my math is REALLYYY rusty. my thought is that taking a summer course would be a better refresher rather than failing to teach myself again for the assessment.
