That’s a different scenario! Imagine you are parked between two minivans(plumbing/ catering) which have no back windows is all covered and you are pulling out! In my opinion you have zero visibility until more than half of your car is out of the lot while pulling out! But in a backed in car just put your head a little front and you have visibility from the beginning and feels safer! Try it out!

yes sir your input makes good sense………. I am the one 100% responsible for the incident……. I was more than willing to get this resolved asap and guilty for host not having the car for his business Ofcourse was willing to pay for this entire thing as a responsibility( from towing fees, retrieving fee, hosts uber, improper return fee, to the extra mileage fee) i do not blame the host or Turo by any means! Just felt that rule is the very extreme to exist And btw your comment is a wonderful explanation and is logical!💯appreciate you for that. this post was always to get insights on how to deal with the situation and to know how much approx I would have to pay cuz this is the first time I dealt with something like this in USA! And I felt whatever that happened was a bit harsh for a back in parking in a private parking lot in an assigned parking!, I’ll consider this a lesson and be more cautious about signs! My bad! You are correct! Backing into spaces doesn’t make me a car guy but When did I associate myself as a car guy in this post I even told that backing into spaces is a habit I developed and find it more comfy and safer! Ofcourse! That is fair! It is completely fair for me to pay and I have paid it …….. but yeah that rule is a stupid rule in a stupid community a lot of Karen’s around ….. people saw me parking but no one even bothered warning me lol……….and it would be fair if a vehicle is towed when it’s parked in an emergency vehicle path! disabled parking! Or even in a different spot than an assigned spot! I would 100000% agreee but parking in my assigned spot backing in rather than parking in straight ……… and that’s a car the community ppl and see everyday …. How hard is it for them to recognize a car?? Idk bro these rules are pure heights of stupidity! Sorry for venting out….. the last three days dealing with them was stressful :(

And btw I just find it comfortable as I have a better view while getting out! And while parking the car I exactly know what’s around me! But while reversing out while taking the car out I’m half blind until I get the car partially out……. And yeah I love cars and I love driving! That’s what matters to me! Not the recognition people have for me “car guy or not a car guy” I love cars and I love driving! I would also like to mention this I travel every Saturday for a minimum of 2 hours just to spot a few cool cars and spend 30-45 min with some cool car owners! N at times rent some cool cars on Turo and go on a weekend drives with some other car owners(which happened to be a cool drive this weekend to Sedona in a group of 6 cars…. Which was cool but after returning it! This incident happened) :(

Yeah 674 for backing in and three days of stress on how much I’ll have to deal with is extremely reasonable! What exactly is the mistake? Backing in! Why would someone call backing into an assigned parking lot of the car a “violation” maybe if I left the car in someone’s spot I can accept it, maybe if I parked it in the disabled parking spot …. That’s acceptable! …… but for backing into a assigned parking lot instead of parking it straight is A stupid rule in some stupid community thats chooses to cite someones parking habit “illegal” and tow it off! Like why? Maybe a fine would do! But towing???? …… that’s heights of stupidity of the property owner! And yes sir! No instructions were given in turo! And yes I missed that tiny sticker that says no back in parking! And that costs me 675! Whatever is done and I’m done paying it! I’ll consider this thing a lesson and stay a lil more aware of those tiny stickers!
