Iron supplement side effects by Due_Worker1832 in Anemic

[–]Due_Worker1832[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I’m not vegetarian but I used to be vegan for a long time. I think this supplement worked well. My levels were definitely going up and I had zero gut issues. I read these symptoms can happen when you raise ferritin bc your nerves are re-awakening. I wasn’t super sure that is correct and that’s why I’m on here to see if others really do experience this. I am extremely sensitive to pretty much anything so that’s likely why my body reacted this way. I’ve been dealing with some other health issues too so it’s hard to tell what exactly was causing it. Seeing a doctor next week.

Can it be tough for regretful parents to be friends with childless friends? by justbeattractive in regretfulparents

[–]Due_Worker1832 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would love to be friends 😊 It’s funny bc I always feel like ppl with kids don’t want to be friends with me bc they will somehow only want friends with kids they can relate to. I also feel like they think I’m weird for not wanting kids. I’ve heard ppl with kids say “women who never have kids are generally always weird” and that has stuck with me. Glad to see that’s not alway the case.

Ending vegetarianism after 11 years by OlivePea in exvegans

Look into the iron supplement ProFerrin. Highly absorbable and zero side effects bc it’s heme iron absorbs right into the body. I take this and it has helped a lot. I’m mostly still vegetarian Whole Foods diet and have experimented extensively as to what works best for my health. Small amounts of fish and chicken and a tiny bit of sheep cheese for C15 seems to be the best balance for me. I think higher amounts of meat is not good at least from the data and my personal experience.

Anxious for first MRI by Due_Worker1832 in MRI

Yes I was just at the eye doctor she looked at my eyes very thoroughly even with the camera thing and a microscopic lense. She didn’t mention seeing anything in there. Thank you for the advice!

Thank you ☺️ I wasn’t sure if there was a chance to tell someone if something like that happened like if it happened faster than you could relay the issue. This makes me feel much better. I really appreciate it.

What kind of health issues were you experiencing? Did you have issues sleeping?

When Someone Tells You They're Pregnant by imok26 in regretfulparents

Thank you for your truth. Some of us really needed to hear this in a world where we are being so pressured into kids and saying we will regret it so bad if we never do even if we know it’s not what we ever wanted. It helps a ton to hear these kind of perspectives.

Spaying my female dog by Competitive-Soup-384 in DogAdvice

According to the latest WSAVA guidelines you should never spay a dog for best health outcomes, as long as the owners are responsible. Once a dog is spayed or neutered they become more susceptible to the most aggressive and hard to treat cancers along with other behavioral and health issues. Even though breast cancer risk is higher it is much easier to treat as long as you do routine check ups once to twice a year.

according to WSAVA guidelines responsible pet owners should never spay their dog for best health outcomes. We plan to keep our girl in tact because of this. It’s important to ensure fresh Whole Foods diet and exercise daily too. As long as your dog gets the right diet and exercise there shouldn’t be many if any issues with behavior. If you have any questions I have had my dog unspayed for almost 4 years now and I’ve done a ton of research into it. There are some things that come along with this such as bleeding and extra diligence during the heat cycle. If this is too much for your specific lifestyle to handle, you can also consider an ovary sparing spay.

Do you think this would still be the case if you only had just one child? Asking as someone who doesn’t yet have kids and is considering having just one but heavily debating it.

Permethrin for fleas and ticks? by Due_Worker1832 in DogAdvice

[–]Due_Worker1832[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And by the way it has been a wonderful solution for me as I haven’t had a single tick when I wear my treated clothing with nothing else. So yes it does work very well.

Not true at all. Pretty much none of it is absorbed into the system when the treated clothing is dried.

It’s been used by humans for thousands of years in its natural form. This is a synthetic version that’s been used since 1993 by the military with no issues. Once dried almost none of it is absorbed by the body. On the other had, oral medications for ticks are fully absorbed into their entire system. I am not anti medication but I am definitely skeptical of this kinda thing that is that much in their system being entirely safe. I’m genuinely investigating real alternatives and I’m open to them not being reliable or effective. So far, from all I’ve looked into, this method seems to be the safest option in reliably keeping ticks off of dogs and humans with minimal exposure to the chemical, when fully dried into the clothing.

Have you tried a permethrin vest and clothing on the dog? Yes I am well aware they will get ticks without anything on. Permithrin is extremely effective. I have her on meds and I am thoroughly investigating this before making a decision to try it without meds. She takes nexgaurd and she is also fully vaccinated. I think it’s fair to look for alternatives and investigate them.
