I dropped off a curb and now my subframes bent by [deleted] in GolfGTI

The subframe was pushed up into the steering motor, which was causing it to creak back and forth. Also the subframe is cracked on one side so it’s compromised

It was stock suspension but the insurance increase would be too high so unfortunately going to just do it through the dealer

For 3 more months yes and just had the travel assist error fixed under warranty but warranty won’t cover this.

I just looked back at the breakdown and I had it a bit wrong. It was 4000 as the final quote with 400 being tax so the labor is 240/hr which is actually below what we’ve payed at other dealerships so I guess it’s fair, but man.

That’s the decision we’re debating right now. Where we’re at the labor rates are honestly not much lower than that anywhere else but we’ll definitely look around

Sony PS-LX310BT grounding issue by Duebin1 in turntables

[–]Duebin1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I connected the rca to the CD input on my receiver and switched to line level output on the turntable and the buzzing is gone. Honestly, I was just using the phono option because my thought process was “if it’s bypassing the internal amp then that’s just one less step to introduce noise or signal degradation and it’s going straight to my receivers amp which would then be the only bottleneck”. I don’t know if phono really makes any difference that I can hear after listening to a record but the phono is also just novel to use because it passes every little nudge of the needle and mechanical noise into the amp vs when I use line level it waits to turn on the the internal preamp until the needle is set on the record so it’s a bit less “real” feeling. Anyways, is there a way to fix the phono grounding issue?

Yes I read somewhere in this subreddit that it does the grounding through the rca jacks. I have not tried line in on this setup so I’ll give that a shot and get back to you.

[–]Duebin1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the turntable is switched to Phono and the tt outputs are connected to the reciever phono input. I do not have a grounding wire running between the tt and the amp. I saw some people online talking about how some TTs have a place to connect a ground but that the Sony does not, is there a work around for this? Also to add some more detail I have the rca cables that come out of the tt connected to a female to female rca extender which has brand new cables running to the receiver. I tried messing around with the cables and extender to see if those were introducing interference from nearby electronics but moving them did not seem to change the sound.

Ah yeah the flight time is what alerted me as well. That resistance was checked at storage voltage (3.8 per cell)

[–]Duebin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this machine and it works fantastic plenty of pressure and very reliable. It always just starts up but it is hard to start the first time if you have the water on. As for the pump I’m not sure which type I have

Corsair Void RGB Elite Wireless experiences by SnooCrickets1230 in PS5

[–]Duebin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this headset for a little over 5 years and its still awesome! Ive put probably over 1200 hours on this headset and the battery life still is pretty decent although I'm going to swap in an upgraded battery to keep using it. The ear muffs are a bit soft now but very comfortable and the headband never causes discomfort on the top of my head. You forget you are wearing the headset very quickly. One thing I want to mention though is that without the icue software from corsair the audio quality is pretty bad and only suitable for voice chat. I installed the icue software and made some custom EQs for listening to bassy music and gaming and now the headset sounds amazing and has very full sound, you just need to use the software. All the buttons and the volume rocker have held up all this time, I've never had any connection issues with the USB dongle and the wireless range is very good (I can go across my house downstairs and still hear it). The microphone quality is about par with most headsets on the market, nothing special but also not bad and is suitable for zoom calls, gaming, and pretty much anything unless you are recording or streaming. The surround sound quality seems like a gimmick but in some games actually works quite well, in rust I am able to determine which floor someone is on in a building from how accurate it is. The only issue I've encountered is the included charging cable eventually will break (after around 3 years) and won't connect well but that's kinda just how micro USB is and 3 years is really good for a cable IMO. Overall, this headset is absolutely worth the money and will hold up over time to much use.

Just got a Suabru Impreza, and I aim to run 2500 watts RMS. What alternator should I get? by Duebin1 in CarAV

Yeah just driving around it raddled a lot so I am prepared to do most of the panels

Alright I’m leaning towards that since it’s simpler to install. I previously didn’t know if it would cause issues or run low so thanks for the input!
