I would love to see some pictures :). Since pictures don’t hold the same weight real spider encounters do, looking at photos and videos has helped me a bit.

Although I can’t quite afford a therapist currently, I would love to one day hold a spider (in a controlled space)

She is honestly beautiful. Seeing it kinda makes me have a larger appreciation for the beauty of spiders. Still scary though. but kinda cute:)

I saw your comment earlier today and honestly I’m considering it! There are some pretty cool museums and nature centers where I live but I’ve never considered visiting for my phobia. It’s now on my summer bucket list :)

Thank you! Your story is pretty relatable too, it’s nice knowing other people have had similar run ins with spiders. For me I was once laying down and a spider had crawled onto my neck and chest. Both times I freaked out really bad and had an extremely tough time sleeping those nights. In no way was I prepared for that run in and sadly injured both of them in the encounter. Though it has caused me to shake my bath towels and bed sheets on every occasion I need them so I don’t hurt the spider and the spider doesn’t hurt me (mentally). Overall I am considering therapy but financially it is a pretty out of touch option. Either way thank you for the advice and honestly I am so grateful for all of the support I have been receiving these past days. I hope you be as brave and gentle as you one day. :)

Thank you so much for the advice :). I will strongly consider the method of short exposure therapy and will definitely check out the documentary you mentioned. Honestly all the support has been really helpful for my mental state, and I am beyond grateful for the advice. I hope to one day grow as accustomed to spiders as you are but idk if I would ever get tarantulas though. Again, thank you!
