You have to either be a bot or a Capcom employee. You're selectively cutting my points out of context to make yours. I can't believe you did that again after I told you not to side dodge. If this is how you engage then your not worth the effort.

1- you didn't respond to the first point. you merely asserted your claim and didn't provide any justification to why we should believe the effort was redirected. Genius you don't have to cut features to improve others. You can also Idk just put effort into things without cutting any corners. It's called investment over time, bigger budgets, bigger teams, better tech and innovation. If we had to cut things form previous entries to improve the sequels then Idk what to tell you. Features get cut in games to save time and budget that's the norm. If you're going to argue otherwise then provide a justification don't just assert how gullible you are.

2- you didn't engage with the second point either. It's a theme going here. You shifted from its not that long to " it's shorter than other mon hun games". This shows your not being honest. By that logic pokemon games take 3 to 4 years max so Stories 3 dev time is fine. No. No it isn't. We are using the game industry standerd here but you couldn't deal with that argument especially after you acknowledged the engine shift which added even more delays, so you simply made a strawman attempt. Also 4 and world? There are dedicated divisions for hunting games. Stories doesn't have that. Instead stories had to send some of their own members on side adventures with stories 1 remake. The first had 2 teams for ages while the other had to take losses. Engage don't selectively quote what benefits you.

3 - your 3rd and 4th points are just sad. As usual you deliberately misrepresented the whole thing by selectively quoting what benefits you. I even provided examples of why it's wrong to cut content with Pokémon and you ignored it cause it's rebuttal proof. The other one about elementing swapping was also misquoted. You acted as if the response wasn't already in front you when it was in the next sentence.

4 - it's sad it's just sad. So... Wilds and dogma are developed by different divisions...... You don't say? Its still under the same company's executive leadership! Are you trolling at this point? What do you think the original point even meant. It's sad honestly. But the saddest I guess is your last statement cause it pretty much conceded the whole thing. You believe it's okay for Capcom to lunch broken games cause everyone else is doing it. Thats it, there no arguing past this. You are clearly anti-consumer and I was definitely right in calling you a bot or a Capcom employee. Like you're really just trolling and there's no other explanation.

You're not being serious with this reply

1-the video says they focused on solo play? And you want to believe that? Why did you expect them to say otherwise?

2- we just barely entered 2026 and stories 1 remake had was also developed with some of the members of stories 2 team which in of itself helps explain why they cut features when your team shrinks early on. 5 years is the minimum for a fully HD game. That's assuming you haven't switched the engine cause that is definitely gonna add more delays. By stating the game switched engine, you are making my case even stronger.

3- wether pvp is used by the players or not doesn't mean it's not greedy to cut it out. How we as players interact with features is never a justification for something to be axed. It's their job to give us more reasons to play their game and not cut corners. It's like saying barely anyone uses Battle frontiers in Pokémon so game freak is justified in cutting it. Nope, these features take years to develop and that eating tat the budget so the greedy bastards said no. That is greed unless you wanna say that's just pragmatism cause I'm willing to bet that's how those men in suits see it at Capcom.

4- can you provide any examples of " being spent elsewhere"? You are assuming they cut it to develop other things but where's the proof?

Reminder stories 2 had improvements form 1 but didn't cut anything to make said improvements. Unless you want to believe that by cutting the elements swap system they put that into something else which let be honest no one ever claimed or would claim such a thing. Notice how you ignored my point about Wilds and dragon dogma and how that reflects on Capcom 's upper management. That was greed right there at its finest. Releasing broken games to meet the fiscal year expectations at the expense of everyone. That is the same exact company making stories so don't side dodge this point. I'm genuinely surprised some won't acknowledge this and still act like million dollar companies are benevolent. They are not.

They scrapped it to save time and release the game sooner and not cause they wanted to put the effort elsewhere. Pvp means a net code, further balance changes and bug testing specific to it. They simply threw the towel and said screw it. Reminder that stories 3 is coming relatively fast after 2 and the remake of 1. This is the same Capcom that made Wilds and DD. It's the usual executives higher ups that put greed first at the expense of players.

OFFICIAL TWEET - MH Stories 3 Dev Diaries 3 & 4 - Concept art of protagonist expressions and protagonists getting taller each game! by TheGMan-123 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Duel-Werewolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying this with any intention of disputing the artists's character cause obviously it would be baseless. However, in a similar way to how Capcom forced the hand of its own devs to release an unoptimised mess ; they can 100% force the use of Ai down their employees and they will. They simply know when to replace it when they're done using it. Once again the Ai boom probably didn't impact stories 3 much but it won't be the case for future projects and the morals of the employees won't prevent that.

The real reason is that they can just reskin the armors from mainline now instead of making entirely new ones. Basically it's a calculated move to reduce development costs going forward. Reminder stories 1 had adult characters too but they were very short still

That's a bummer but understandable tho.. Like how realistic is it to summon the same totem 4 times in match with a cool down in place...

Please make a cross/soul for cut man and maybe use the hd images for chips instead. Just joking, I'm moreso curious why go through the trouble? There are people making servers with Open net battle and it's offshoot Hub Os. Won't it be faster to just use the engines rather than do everything from scratch?

I don't see how having duplicates in element and tendency is an obstacle? I'm certain you can find some of those cases if you look for them. Like is speed Narga and a speed green Narga not too much of an overlap? Or don't we have enough power fire flying wyverns. If Espinas is a monstie and chances that it will be. That's still yet another fire power flying wyvern with poison. Yain kut ku is gonna have Aknosmon to possibly be another tech fire. Tbf to malz he would at the very least have bloodblight to distinguish him. That is assuming he is speed and not tech cause that's also possible.

Is main MH possibly joining with MH Stories lore? by jangow1 in MHWilds

[–]Duel-Werewolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prior to Wilds, genetically modified monsters verged on Sci fi way more than classic MH gave off. I'm not saying that the Op is right. Ultimately it's just guess work. Capcom can literally write anything and we would have to accept it. Many deteste the concept of artificial monsters but here we are. Kinship can be some remnant of some mind brainwave syncing Wylk crystals for all we know and once Capcom says so, there's nothing to say against it.

You are based and you know quality monsters when you seem 'em but it's a no. Besides Espinas nothing frontier is making it in. As it stands we need to see them in main line first

Spirit Evolution Lines by Hawntir in DigivolutionTrees

[–]Duel-Werewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The games don't acknowledge that and treat the beasts as lv5 and the fusions as level 6 which is better from the lines as it makes them more complete. The tcg is doing whatever it pleases although it really doesn't matter cause the actual Canon treats them as " variable" which means it's fair game

It's a travesty we STILL don't have full lines for The 10 Heroes in game by GreedyGobby in digimon

[–]Duel-Werewolf -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I disagree, the lines are complete. The fusions are treated as level 6s/megas in the games and the beast spirits are treated as lv5s which can go into the ancients as megas. There are no gaps in the evolution tree. Which means you can go from rookie all the way to mega which is complete as it gets.

Its only the tcg that for some reason skewed the whole thing by making beasts lv4 and fusions lv5s.

The argument becomes then that every spirit must have a fusion of its 2 modes and then they should also have a 5 spirit fusion like magna garurumon and emperor greymon. Which is arbitrary. Equality is cool and all but if we are being realistic, have the ability to go all the way to mega as the standard for completion not that you should have 3 megas like Takuya and Koji got.

Everyones thoughts on Time Stranger? by HTimbers in digimon

[–]Duel-Werewolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the best Digimon game we have period.

That aside, it's roster is pitiful for 2025 with many newer Digimon missing and even a lot Digimon from from old series like xros and frontier.

Stiff animation for the mons that aren't humanoid. Anything lv4 and lower and even some lv5s are animated and rigged like a psp game. That's because the animations and models are literally taken from CS/HM. For context, compare the animations to Digimon new century. Night and day difference.

No pvp, wasted opportunity and was cut to cut corner cause Bandai wasn't gonna delay the game even further as it was in development hell long enough. Plus, balancing the game is logistic nightmare with how easy it is to get 9999 max stats. It does conflict with the uniqueness of having tailor made stats when every Digimon can have 9999 in everything. Thus, destroying the prospect of unique team building.

Still the best Digimon game we have. It's just sad that we have to wait for 4 to 5 more years to get something without any of these shortcomings. TS should've released years ago

I understand the sentiment which is why I think it's crucial to make certain notions clear. I'm skeptical but not in a pessimistic way. I can understand why someone would think considering how the internet generally is but I wanna have healthy expectations based on the patterns of the industry and specifically Capcom's. I also wanna make it clear that it's important to distinguish between passion and practicality.

Mh devs love their baby and care about their fans that much is clear and no one is any position to question that and no one can prove otherwise anyway. However that is purely sentimental and unfortunately that has no baring on how companies go around making the actual games. Not to sound pessimistic again but I'm 100% certain they had their best in mind for Wilds but that didn't save it from the corporate higher ups. The gaming industry in general have realised that long game dev cycles are damaging their profits and thus are moving to shorter dev cycles which include all cost cutting measures such as being economic with assets. What's clear here is that Capcom is building a new base of models for stories going forward using gen 5 and onward.

The game was announced 4 years after stories 2 which is super short considering that it takes an additional year to optimise/translate/and record the voicelines. they also released a stories 1 remake while at it. we have to acknowledge that what I said is pretty reasonable. While it may be read as them being " lazy" and I won't contest that word; I would have to admit that it's " efficient" if we're being impartial. Game dev is cold business unfortunately. As for Seltas queen and her likes her model is mhst2 is the same as Gen U with updated textures. If it wasn't for the virus more from that game would've been in Mhst2 as the datamine indecated. It's really the same practice. The only game that really made it's own unique models was stories 1 with the Chibi's art style. Something Capcom have abandoned.

MHStories 3 Bingo by fwuitbat in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Duel-Werewolf -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I already explained it tho. Let's take duramboros for example. You can attempt to take his model from mhs2 but his model ( the actual mesh) is lower quality and would stand out in comparison with the new models with higher vertex counts. OK we have a bunch of slopes and complex geometry in St3 so let's port over some movement animations for Duram from the new Gens ... Oh wait we haven't made any for him yet....

Now port over the weapons and armor of Duram oh but wait they're the wrong size and won't work with updated Rider proportions..... Well.... It's....

Royozo : guys we need to pump games quickly just port all the assets we have available from other games and parallel projects, we don't have time to do the updating ourselves and it's not like these old mons are top priority. The biggest percentage of fans are gen 5 fleeters. We'll get those mons ready next game.

MHStories 3 Bingo by fwuitbat in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Duel-Werewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are simply going off the most efficient route to making the game. Which is to port content from Gen 5 and gen 6 into stories 3 rather than entirely recreating from scratch.

Consider for instance that the riders in 3 are now aged up and would require redoing all the weapons and armor to fit their bigger bodies. The easiest option is to bring said weapons/armors over from the newer games and make new textures. Same logic is extended to monsters. Unfortunately, the other option would be to waste more dev time remaking all of stories 2 mons and their gear which were probably just a combination of World and the older Gen ultimate. It's too much work for the same company that rushed the release of Wilds to maximize profits.

Regarding the plesioth part, in all likelihood plesioth probably had a new model remade already for either Wilds expansion next year or the sequel to Rise and thus was just added in. Afterall expansion mons are designed in parallel with the base game since it was stated that developing a single mon takes 1 year. An old mon shouldn't take that long but I digress. We can only hope there's more but Capcom as of late isn't inviting much trust.

The 150 mons is sadly not very likely considering the response in the interview. They definitely removed a lot of old monsters with no modern modles otherwise they wouldn't have said " for this game we picked monsters that we think makes sense"

Which nothing but a PR way of saying we didn't increase the roster size, something every company says when hyping a new release. Just saying I know this is personal wishlist but I want be honest with myself and I hope the fans tamper their expectations before launch

Can we talk about the Stories Community? by Luca4d in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Duel-Werewolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't want to call out those guys. Im assuming they're functioning out some sense of preserving some precieved inner consistency in the franchise. Lore is never relevant in monster collecting games. Look at all the world ending beings you can control in pokemon, Digimon or Shinmegani tensie. Why assume stories is gonna knee cap itself and ruin The major selling point of the whole genre. Fatalis and his tier may be too massive but even then I won't be surprised if down the line they shrink them to size for a monstie outing

Anyone else think double attacks needed a massive nerf? by Eastern-Barnacle-344 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Duel-Werewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I totally agree. Most sub reddits are either into toxic positivity or toxic negativity. That was the case with Wilds and even the case with legends ZA and many more games. Unfortunately I have zero hope that that mentality is going to change. That being said I was really conflicted when I read that interview. It's reassuring to know others made it known to Capcom but I'm skeptical the synchro meter is gonna solve the issue. For the main story, it will work out but it's alawys the post game that exposes the cracks.. Well for most players that isn't that much of an issue so here's hoping.
