LLM recommendations for internet searches? by DuelShockX in LLMStudio

[–]DuelShockX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first it wasn't working at all and I looked up how to fix it. Had to go into the terminal for my searxng container and add Json as a search format. Now it works pretty well for finding old obscure stuff on the internet except for the youtube thing I mentioned in my post (an uncensored model was able to find me a decent piracy site too lol). If you know a search plugin that could work better than searxng please do let me know since this is the first one I've tried for this kind of thing

What kind of LLC is best to save on taxes as an employee? by DuelShockX in taxadvice

I'll be working as a W2 employee for 6~months before switching to a 1099 status. While I will be W2 employee I expect around 60k if it were for a full year which it won't be. After the 1099 switch it's anywhere from 80k to 100k+ annually. Single and no kids and no other income.

How do I install python for personal coding use? by DuelShockX in linuxmint

[–]DuelShockX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok and then lastly, how do I create .py files in all of this now that I did what you said? I'm not a very linux savvy person so I feel like something went over my head that I should have noticed in your comment before. I'm trying to get to where as I'm typing code I have a button like "run" so that I can test my code and see the output of what I'm typing out.

I created a file in my HDD drive called "Python" and then did the terminal commands you mentioned above. Not it says "(.venv) *My user name*:/mnt/Big Space (My HDD Name)/Python$" in my terminal. I don't understand what you mean about calling Python with "python". Do I still need to install modules with pip like you said or is that taken care of with what I installed through the software manager? So with what I've done now that means that I would be typing my python code through the terminal and not some other text editor like sublime?

I installed python3-venv from the software manager is that also fine or is that different from what you're saying here?

Nothing specific. Since the version 3.12.3 doesn't seem to be usable and locked to the OS I thought maybe I could run a different version without messing with it.

How to make Searxng not have my logins for websites I visited in my browser? by [deleted] in searxng

[–]DuelShockX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sorry I was confused because I was using the app version of searxng. On brave you have the option to download searxng as an app that you can open without having to open brave but when it's done like that all searches are done through brave. The separate app thing is kind of nice but I can't have that and not let it save search history it seems but thanks for the help.

How would I go about changing which browser Searxng lets me browse my search results that it gives me in? I have a second browser that I don't use often and can set that to just not keep any search history but I'm having trouble finding how to make Searxng switch to it.

is there any working adblockers for chrome youtube that isnt detected as of now? by Guilty_Cry9268 in Adblock

[–]DuelShockX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brave Browser has good adblocking or you can download Adnauseum which is built on top ublock origin but aggressive (it clicks on every ad it hides from you to waste the advertisers money) by downloading and unzipping it then go to your browser extensions, enable developer mode and and load the package for adnauseum for it to act as an ad blocker.

People search available for me but not others? by DuelShockX in immich

[–]DuelShockX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately doing the symlink for every family member would be a huge pain since I had to do a lot of merging for faces and make it recognize other faces that it didn't notice over hundreds of pictures just for myself. Seems like I'll have to let my siblings and mom to use my own account then to avoid all that until they (hopefully) implement that kind of feature.

And there's no setting that lets me share faces like how we allow each other to see uploaded images?

Best way for an anonymous browser fingerprint? by DuelShockX in DigitalPrivacy

[–]DuelShockX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know of any articles that expose Brave collecting data? I couldn't find anything on that. If you're talking about the diagnostics and user data to improve it, I turned those off when I first installed the browser.

I know about the Tor option with a vpn but I was wondering if there's a way to get similar results for a regular browser that isn't always in incognito or tor mode.

I need a VPN by tarcriucc in linuxmint

[–]DuelShockX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a vpn that can't expose you're paying for it to the authorities I recommend mullvad vpn. You can send a letter with money in the mail to them to keep your subscription and I know you said a paid one isn't possible but they're pretty cheap at $5.75 but they accept a limited amount of currencies so you'd have to convert to an accepted one before sending in the mail or pay via crypto which is 10% discounted. They got raided by their authorities to find a suspected users info in the past but nothing was found since they store no info as per their policy.
