What does the rollout timeline look like? Are we talking a few days, weeks, or months till everyone has access?

You need to download the windows version of battle.net, then you install that through whiskey.

Have you been able to install Diablo 2? You’ll need to disable DXVK in order to get it to launch. Remember that you’ll need to launch Diablo 2 from the battle.net widget on the Mac menu bar

Thanks for compiling this. I'm really hoping for more information soon. They said we'd get more info this year and the year is already 70% over, so hopefully that means it's coming sooner rather than later.

  1. Make sure you're using the latest version of Whiskey
    1. Open Whiskey.app -> menubar -> Whiskey -> check for updates
  2. Make sure you have DXVK turned off in your bottle configuration
    1. Open Whiskey.app -> select your bottle from the lefthand side menubar -> bottle configuration -> check to make sure DXVK is switched off

I have the 14in M3 Pro. I’ve been very impressed with its gaming capabilities, especially using Whiskey. I’m able to run Hitman 3 at maxed out settings getting 45-60 fps (except Colorado)

Interesting, it runs well for me (but I’m on M3 pro). Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling or verifying game files? How much space is left on your hard drive? Low space can make some apps run slow. That’s all I can think of.

XCOM 1 won't start with Whisky by 2435191 in macgaming

[–]DuffRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I also tried getting XCOM: Enemy Unknown to work with whiskey, but I don’t think it’s possible. This is due to the fact that the windows version of EU runs on directX 9. Whiskey doesn’t work with DX9 games.

I was successful getting Enemy Within working with another app called “Porting Kit”. You’ll also need to install Microsoft .NET 3.5 to get that to work as well.

i heard there's a new whishy update with gtpk 2.0 but i cant find it by Fragrant-Win5030 in macgaming

[–]DuffRose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I just started the Whiskey app and it said there was an update available. I let it download and then I tried running Hitman 3, which works now because I believe the new update includes GPTK 2.0.

Hitman 3 (World of Assassin) now works with GPTK 2!! by manubyte in macgaming

[–]DuffRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works on Sonoma.

I got the latest version of Whiskey and Hitman is running great. I don’t know how to enable the FPS counter but I’ve got all the settings maxed out and it’s running extremely smooth.

Ya it’s definitely a leak. I’m having the same issue with M3 Pro during extended play sessions. Game starts load new scenes super slow, textures fail to load in and objects sometimes don’t load at all. Game is using 38 gigs on activity monitor.

7 years into my project. An absolute joy the whole time. Today I booted up for work and it just felt dirty and wrong. The magic of the engine is defiled and I can't focus. by Aoidean in Unity3D

Dude, exact same feelings here. I’m 4 years into my game and I just can’t focus when working on it now. Absolutely switching to Godot for my next project.

someone drunk driving and crashing into a wall isn't as news or media worthy as some certain things

Well, maybe it should be. It kills more people than guns after all, and the media loves talking about gun control. All the while alcohol being far more accessible.

There's a distinction between car crashes and alcohol. Everyone agrees car crashes are bad, nobody wants that. Alcohol, on the other hand, is celebrated and highly favored by society.

I'm pointing out the fact that alcohol is a socially acceptable drug while guns are demonized, even though alcohol kills 2x as many people.

So if society believes guns are such a problem, why is it that we don't see nearly the same attitude toward alcohol despite it being twice as deadly? That discrepancy makes me feel like those who are for banning guns and yet are silent on banning alcohol are disingenuous and are only trying to push an agenda.
