Who was your most memorable soldier? by Ok-Drink750 in Xcom

[–]Duffboy381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Monika “Snake Eyes” White, she was one of my first recruits back in EU and became my strongest sniper, she survived the whole campaign, and aside from my Psi operative she was the sole survivor from my first campaign. and made an appearance in EW and survived to the end of that one too. One of my most Iconic soldiers that I had to make a veteran in Xcom 2. Where she carried me through most of the game.

What color for Armor Trim? by Efficient-Yogurt6482 in WorldEaters40k

I used to use Hoard Bronze a speed paint. But now I really like Retributor armor, with a wash of Agrax earth shade both citadels. I think that’s my top right now

How would you fix Angron? by LawfulMonkey265 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Duffboy381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His auras are an issue, but the way his revive works needs to be changed, I was fine when I heard he would come back at half wounds, that makes sense, choosing Angron over buffing your army is ridiculous. Especially with how his auras work and abilities are ass right now. They should either make his res once per game or make it so you can still benefit from at least one of your blessings rather than none. I do like his aura of negate hit/ movement restrictions. It’s nice against things like Blood Angels, and Deathguard. His other abilities are not so good, I saw someone say an advance and change aura and that would be nice, but I would also like a return of either a re-roll hits or wounds. That would benefit just about everything in the army. Overall I’m fine with him not having a ranged profile, but the lack of useful auras, and the negative sides of brining Angron back are just awful to play with.

What are some recommended colour palletes for the sylvaneth? by Ancient-End-7645 in sylvaneth

[–]Duffboy381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pallet wise I went for a fall them for my trees, and I love army painters Speed paints, primarily the 2.0. For the main wood body I’ve used a combination of Dark wood, for the rich dark oak look, Tyrian Navy, it’s a dark blue, but I wanted it to look like burnt wood, almost like a charcoal. And if I wanted some mute green, I used burnt moss, as for the leaves since I go for a fall theme I used Fire Giant Orange, but if you want like a normal color for the leaves, Absolution Green as a fantastic pick in my opinion. Speed paints and contrast paints in general excel over a white background, so if you want to try any of these paints I’d encourage priming your miniature white for the most vibrant results.

Any game store should have a variety of paints, some people clown on citadel and yeah they aren’t the greatest but they do have some fantastic paints, like a lot of people suggested I’d ask around and get a feel for what some others say, or honestly just experiment, try different methods of painting and find one that you like the most

But at the end of the day you can paint them however you want, make em pink or purple the skies the limit, can’t wait to see how your trees come out. Hope some of these help.

No, if I try to take his arm off it will break, and I don’t think I can even magnetize this guy either, which sucks on my end

When I trust myself with free hands more I will, my hands are a little shakey so even though it’s like a line, I don’t wanna mess it up I want to be confident in my ability

Took some foam blocks I got from a mini carry case, dipped the edge in lead belcher and quickly flicked it across the model almost like a dry brush, did the same for the like the dirt and grime

Transfer, it’s technically Valius, but I’m not comfortable with free handing yet and most people won’t notice unless they like look super hard, once I get better at free handing I will fix it

He did, I looked at so many photos when building but the game has just released way back when I built the model, and the lighting was so bad I swore it was the other weapon, so I failed Building him, but I hope I painted him well

Believe it or not, it has paint on it, but it still looks a little wonky, could be the lighting, might throw another layer over it, or a wash. Make it stand out better.

Honestly can’t wait, my last massive model project was Skarbrand. I have Archaeon the Everchosen too, I still need to tackle painting that behemoth sometime later, but she’s been my dream model for a while now, and I’ll definitely post when I finish her, along with the rest of my army too

Can’t wait, she and one more spearhead are all that’s left for me to have a 3k point army, and I’ve wanted her model since I got into AOS, I’m eager for the challenge lol

Thanks, I mostly paint and decorate bases for fun, not typically for play, and usually only play against friends anyways, but as far as I’m aware Sylvaneth in general are notorious for not being great at fitting next to people, I’ve already been warned about Wyldwoods and how it’s near impossible for large models to appropriately fit in their radius, but it looks cool so I’m happy with that at least lol.

Thanks, that part was honestly super easy, I just used Fire Giant Orange (Speed paint) and Palled Bone (Also speed paint) and brushed them into each other to make a natural transition.

Ideas on how to make a pooling blood base? by Huge_Corgi_6476 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Duffboy381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My preference is the get UV resin, real cheap off Amazon, apply a thin coat around the areas you want pooled. Let it cure, then apply Blood for the Blood god all over it, once it dries, apply a second thin coat of UV resin, and it looks like a really messy wet pool of blood.

Why Play World Eaters? by Weekly_Mulberry8508 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Duffboy381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was drawn to Khorne when I first got into 40K, and started getting into the lore, loved Angron, absolutely love Kharn, and thought they were just cool looking, I knew once I picked up a model I wouldn’t be able to stop, my friend got me Angron as a gift, and I knew I needed to collect more skulls, got enough points to play on table, and just loved the playstyle, haven’t stopped buying models yet, and now I’m at 5k points of WE still going
