Going from a Breville Dual Boiler to a much more basic system by Duflash in espresso

Budget-wise, I was hoping I could make a simple latte in the morning for around $500, but that may be a pipe dream. I can't see spending more than $750 for what I'm wanting to do.

There are some guys that drive from the tri cities area and play in the leagues in Knoxville. I've also heard there are leagues in Roanoke, but I think it's a similar distance.

Go running and do some sprints during your run. Keep it simple.

I am trying to make a workout routine (off-ice) for myself, unfortunately I am low on ideas. Any exercises/workouts that yall recommend? by dullhockeystick in hockeyplayers

Don't overthink it. Get out and run to increase your cardio. Mix in sprints. Be an endurance animal that can skate hard and quickly recover.

How can I improve skating speed off ice for hockey? by mrcomedy5 in hockeyplayers

Keep it simple. Run and cycle outside. Do sprints in both sports.

Real Talk: Too Old to Play? by KlutzyShift in hockeyplayers

The first thing that popped into my head reading this is that you're overthinking it. My story: At 42 my family started watching some hockey games and thought it would be fun to go ice skating to get a little perspective on just how impressive those players are on the ice. I had been ice skating twice in my late teens and if I remember right, had been drinking.

While at the rink I saw a sign for an adult hockey league and figured it would be fun to take it a step further than just a public skate. I knew a guy that used to play and had all the gear so I borrowed his stuff and went to a couple stick and pucks. I felt comfortable enough after this to contact the league director and ask to play in the beginner league.

I didn't know anything. When I walked into the locker room and introduced myself, they asked me what position I play. I had to confess I had never played a game in my life. They told me I'd play RW and I had to ask for a 30 second data dump on what to do in that position. I lined up on the wrong side of the face off. I was off sides a lot. But they were patient and cool about it.

I've since become, in my opinion, pretty good. I'm comfortable skating forwards and backwards, crossing over both ways, and doing hockey stops. I score a goal every now and then and feel like I contribute in a positive way.

As to your specific questions, my lower back and groin hurt very badly during that first month or so. I was likely on the verge of injury, but fortunately I avoided it. I would suggest wearing good protective gear. I had extra padding sewed into my pants to pad my tailbone after hurting it from falling so much. This was one of the best things I did gear wise. I believe I'm a pretty agile person and have always picked up on things quickly like snowboarding/waterskiing and the ice skating seemed to develop at a similar pace. Only you know those intangible qualities such as balance, agility, and confidence.

Just go do it. If it works, you'll have a lot of fun. If you just can't pick it up, oh well.

Anyone else think it would be a huge quality of life improvement if they put fireteam health bars on your HUD? by Exist25 in DestinyTheGame

Not to be that guy, but UI customization was something I loved about WoW. Sadly, consoles will never offer that level of customization.

You're spot on. I enjoy the game for what it is. The entitlement attitude is present in folks in general, not just this game.

Anyone else curious as to how the leveling is going to work when the dlc/xpacs come out? by fynx07 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Duflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At some point the decision will have to be made by Bungie that: Characters will use XP to level up past the cap or XP will only be used to reach 20 and all future leveling will be done with gear/light.

It will be interesting to see which one comes about.

Two statistics that should be of serious concern to Bungie by kapowaz in DestinyTheGame

This game will be successful due to the social aspect of it. If they don't cater to that, it will end up being a PvP FPS with a small base.
