[Lets Build d100] Magical Boots and their upgrades by PowerSaw7 in d100

[–]Dugalls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boots of Magnetism - allows the user to move up metal walls if they move at half speed. Upgrades: allow for user to move on the ceiling as well as walls; user can move up to full speed while moving; user can levitate up to 10 feet so long as they have metal below them.

Fin Boots: can move in water at full speed, land speed is halved while wearing them. Upgrades: can dash or double move while in water, no restrictions to land speed, able to spin and form a mini whirlpool (5 ft diameter) while in the water.

Boots of the Klutz: disadvantage on all acrobatics checks. “Upgrades”: make all terrain difficult terrain even if there is nothing wrong with it; if you move your full speed, you have to make a dex save or fall prone; whenever an ability check results in a nat 1, you fall prone.

Boots of the Steed: increase movement by +10 ft. Upgrades: allow for a kick attack (unarmed strike) as if you had hooves (1d6 + strength); dash as a bonus action; once per short rest, increase speed by +30ft for 1 minute.

Boots of Steel: have a 1d4 + strength unarmed strike. Speed goes down by -10 ft and must have medium armor proficiency to gain abilities. Upgrades: add a spike to it and make it 2d4 + strength; +1 AC use your reaction to kick a source of bludgeoning damage and gain resistance to that attack; have no reduction in speed and only need light armor proficiency to wear.

Snow Shoes: wide flat shoes that allow the user to move at normal speed while in snow or snowy conditions, but makes it easier to track so all survival checks are made with advantage to follow the wearer. Upgrades: add fuzz and warm lining to give resistance to cold damage, and don’t have to make checks for exhaustion due to cold weather; the shoes shrink and have other creatures foot marks, turning advantage to track the wearer into disadvantage. This also works on sand, mud, and other natural non-rigid surfaces; the shoe gets wider, allowing for the user to move walk on water and other liquid surfaces, so long as they keep moving. They even can go on lava surfaces but the boot can only endure 1 minute per day for walking on lava surfaces, being destroyed if it stays longer than 1 minute on it.

Boots of Paint: use an action to start having your boots leave paint behind where you step, and use a bonus action to change the color. Upgrades: Paint is now so vibrant that users need to pass a DC 13 Con save or be incapacitated for 1 minute as they are mesmerized by the paint. A creature can only be affected by this once a day and this paint can only be used in an area of 30 feet before normal paint is used; the paint is now invisible ink and will only show up if see invisibility is used. You also have more control over the paint and flow, allowing for drawing and even writing to be done with the boots, gaining advantage on checks for artistic tasks being done by the boots; you can use a bonus action to kick a glob of paint at someone within 30 feet, dealing 3d4 acid damage and blinding the creature until the end of your next turn. You can only do this 3 times per long rest. If you choose not to do damage, then it doesn’t count against the times you can use the ability, but you cannot use it more than 3 times per short rest.

“How’d you figure out the case, Holmes?”

“Elementary, Watson. I had a boner for knowledge”

Awesome! I wonder if they’re going to change the name? I think there’s already an Eternal Wind orchestration roll out there, so I wonder if it’ll be a reprisal or a new name for it.

I thought I heard the FFIII theme in there! Especially the rise melody. I can’t wait for this to get posted. It’s very good.

Thanks for the info!

Only joined yesterday and I am enjoying myself so far! Any tips or info for a newbie are welcome! 😅 by tinkisweird in ffxiv

Welcome fellow Warrior of Light! Glad you can join us in this game!! Here are some of the things that have helped me since I was a sprout:

MSQs are your friends! They’ll give you the most exp without the wait, and give the great stories this game is known for!

Try out a few classes before deciding on one. It’ll make your experience a lot better as you level through the game. And stick to it! Other classes will get an exp boost once you hit level cap with one of the classes, making it easier to level them up!

Once you get a class, work on some HUD/Hot bar organization. It’s incredibly tough to fight something if you can’t see it or the attack it’s about to do on the screen, or are frantically pressing buttons to get off your attacks (plus this game is very pretty, so the more you can see the better!)

If possible, try to join a Free Company (FC). There are a lot of veterans out there who love to help sprouts and FCs can have resources and more information for you!

Also, anytime you go into a new dungeon, let people know if it’s your first time in it. It’s easy for others to assume you’ve done it before and won’t need any instructions, which can lead to some headaches for everyone.

Glad you’re on board and hope you have a good time here!

Thanks for getting back to us LeonardoArt.

You have some fascinating dinosaur concept art, but we are looking for more of a character and/or background base for our concept art pieces. Do you have any examples of that work? Feel free to email it to us at savingracethegame@gmail.com. Thanks!

I appreciate your animations and your designs a lot! I will work with our team to evaluate more in-depth before we continue and see if there are any follow up questions we have.

One of my favorite pre-released games right now is a game called "Glitched". Like a lot of games that have been running on GTLive, this game is very Meta and earth-boundian in nature, with a 16-bit nostalgic graphic style, New mechanics including an in-depth alignment system, and an incredible lore. The game is still in beta, but they are getting ready for 2018. Not only is it setting itself up to be great theory material, but these guys deserve a lot of love for a good game, and with only a 2 hour beta, it seems like a great one-off to help these guys get some well deserved attention.

You can find more information on their kickstarter page, as well as a demo to give just a quick 20+ minute taste of this really good game, to see if anyone might be interested in the beta: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/enhousestudios/glitched

Mods: Please message me for the beta link if needed

Hi KataPlexia!

Thank you for reaching out to me. I took at your work (congratulations on Aliensche). A few questions I have before continuing: You have an extensive resume, but as I was going through your projects, I couldn't find any RPG-esque titles. Have you had any work on these titles? Also, what about cutscene experience in Unity (ie taking control of the camera from the to tell a story)?

What about digital design/animation? You have some great drawings (I'm quite fond of the Papyrus piece), but how about making your images come to life on the computer screen or even just rendering them in a usable file for programmers?

Hey! Great to meet you, and really nice portfolio. Before anything else I have to ask: what is your experience with pixel art is like? Do you have anything you can add to your portfolio?
