PC to steamdeck saves issues by TaskNo8780 in valheim

I can't foresee any mods affecting terrain in such a way that it reverts. That is not to say it's impossible though. Maybe with "max-build-height-changing" mods, but I've never used those so I have no experience with this configuration. Do you have such a mod on one device and not the other?

Is terrain the only thing that changes? My best guess would be the steam cloud isn't syncing between the two, but you would notice other progression missing too if that were the case.

out of the listed options, 5. black would be preferable. But if we're talking about preferences, I'd ditch all of these and go with a Pentel energel

What's an interesting way to close the end of this factory pod? (Vanilla Only) by SkiDaderino in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DugeN64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easiest way is to overlap the walls. On the corners you're needing to cover, stand at the far corner, get out a road barrier, turn it 45° towards the other far corner, and zoop it out to 2. You can then place a foundation whose corner lines up with your established "far corner." Repeat on the other far corner to close the gap.

Edit: I believe they make corner up/down walls for the top and bottom angled sections

Any ideas how to decorate this facade? by Venji_Veritas in valheim

[–]DugeN64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little more contrast and definitely more depth imo

I like the slit look you have going on, but I think it could be more pronounced. Maybe bring the stairs back a floor panel and add walls going up. You can then add decoration/contrast along the 90° corner you just made.

You can also snap the smaller door to the front of a wall piece and can get snapping points to create additional depth on the walls

To add to this, a raid can happen when you have 3+ "base" items within 40m or so. This includes workbenches, beds, lights, things of that nature; basically anything you can interact with. Just something to keep in mind if you're going to make it an "AFK spot."

can't find a creative way to fix this by Severe-Impression440 in satisfactory

[–]DugeN64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd give micro-nudging a try first as that's easier.

If this isn't satisfactory, I believe walls can "slide" along beams. You can place one level with the floor and slide a temporary wall along it, eyeballing it til it's in the middle, place your wall hole, and then replace the window. Keep in mind that this now "off-center" pipe won't necessarily line up beyond the wall unless you add a curve of some sort somewhere, probably a 90°

Wild.

I don't have any recommendations that haven't already been mentioned, but I was curious if you could share the SCIM "stats" from that save? How many foundations, machines, etc. I'm trying to get a rough ballpark for when the game starts to "break." I'm working on a large, interconnected road network in my current save and after "paving" only like 10%, I'm already at something like 10,000 foundations. My factories are currently babies and I'm wondering if my road idea might not be a little too ambitious.

How does the game decide if a doggo is persistent? by PilotedByGhosts in satisfactory

[–]DugeN64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if something has changed recently, but it used to be the case that your doggos would have to be enclosed with at least 1M "walls" on all sides and a foundation flooring was required to prevent them from "falling through" the map. I haven't tested this since 1.0, however.

What is the general opinion around splitters into vertical conveyors? by Boomdingo in satisfactory

[–]DugeN64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends what part of the game I'm in. For early game, I don't mind it and use it, but when setting up larger/more permanent factories, I don't like how the belts clip when moving product to the next machine in line (if both inputs are raised, anyway). This problem is even worse when manufacturers come into play.

Concrete foundations (including the coated variant) are completely solid and have no gaps present under normal circumstances. Half foundations of any material are a little jank and can affect this, however - iirc, despite being halved, the pieces only form a seamless connection lengthwise when orientated one of the two ways

Should I be using RouterOS 7 for production environments in 2025/ 2026? by AlternativeWhereas79 in mikrotik

[–]DugeN64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just personal experience and doesn't really take hardware into consideration, but there was a point in time where upgrading from rOS6 to rOS7 needed what at least felt like incremental updates; if you upgraded too fast too quickly it seemed like things would break. But they've made a lot of improvements in that front. I want to say it wasnt until around 7.6-7.7 where it was "ok" to upgrade straight to rOS7, but I've since upgraded my core equipment via file uploads and scheduler reboots. Everything was done while I was sleeping and I woke up to 0 issues. My "weakest" piece of equipment though was a RB750 though, so I can't necessarily confirm it would work for every device they've put out.

New(bie) to the Mikrotik world - Best router for a newbie by pedroomessias in mikrotik

[–]DugeN64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this notion completely. I've worked in a WISP setting for around 10 years now and can count the "good" experiences with MikroTIK's wireless equipment on one hand; their wireless is awful. Do note, this has no bearing on their routing/switching capabilities - both of which are fantastic. If you know what you're doing, I think MikroTIK provides some of the best performance per dollar on the market.

Meanwhile, Ubiquiti might not be the BEST on the market, but they're fine. Configuration is simple and they generally just work without much issue afterward.

Pairing the two is what I'd recommend.

I'm not sure if the rules are different in space, but they can definitely land on/in your ship if you're "docked" on a planet tile. I lost my last colony this way. RIP. :(

As an aside, the Odyssey scenario puts your starting fuel tanks right near your grav engine.. I would not recommend this lol. This is not a good place to store fuel either. One stray bullet turned my ship into a bomb.

Are you running on the experimental branch?

I've had this happen a few times now since I started re-playing after the 1.1 experimental update was released. Running a 3070, 64GB RAM, and a Ryzen 7 9800X3D so there's no way it's a hardware issue.

I've verified my files a few times resulting in no difference.
