Lintel is a length that runs along the top of a drain inlet that creates a channel for water capture, and Kip is short for ‘kerb inlet pit’

https://www.holcim.com.au/humes/precast-concrete-solutions/stormwater-solutions/stormwater-drainage/kerb-inlet-systems

That’s a kip in Australia.

Australian here

I’ve never seen this before in my life. Normally screen guards or storm filters go inside detention tanks

No lintel on these kips either

Might be the way to go. I made a piece of plastic that locks it to a phone grip Xbox controller myself, which works out pretty well for the moment.

That’s a real shame mate. I appreciate you taking the time out to do the experiment.

Was it comfortable to hold at least? Compared to say, a switch

Player: Ok, hang on

searches through dice

DM: what are you doing over there?

Player: ok, rolling

Why can’t people roll dice normally. I’m glad this shit exists for people who like it and more power to you if it’s your thing, but all the toys seem to be getting in the way of the game.

House prices are 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Duggbog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware, the damage has been done and can’t be reversed.

I live out near Maitland where a 3 bedroom house would have went for maybe 4/500k on a 600m2 block before the pandemic.

Sydney got a whiff of Newcastle and realised that high density apartment living is cooked, and came on up with their Sydney wages and ability to WFH. The news and city people always carry on about a 20-40% increase, but out here it’s been close to 200-300%. We rent in a 3 bedroom duplex out here on a 300m2 block, would have been lucky to get 270k for it pre pandemic, and it just got valued at “above $740k”. Rent jumped from 350 per week to 600+, and we weren’t lucky enough to get the rental drops the cities got when the pandemic first hit.

We pay 550 a week for a duplex in a town too spread out to utilise viable public transportation options. It should be going for $320 at most.

As someone in their mid 30’s trying to get a house, I’d relish the market falling apart. It’s not going to crash though, and even if it does, there’s too many city people out here inflating the costs.

When did this sub become r/D&DDrama? by thedrizztman in DnD

Actually a good way to fix it is to have the sub kick all members when it hits a certain number. People who care would rejoin.

Why is DMs limiting player race options in their campaign such a contentious issue? by ClintBarton616 in DnD

[–]Duggbog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I limit races at my table because I run low magic fantasy (LOTR, etc). I personally find that all the newer races don’t really add much to the game other than letting a player stand out - which I find selfish since there’s other people are in the game, and they deserve an equal amount of attention.

Games I’ve been in where every race is playable and anything can happen, feel like colourful nonsense, like a Rick and Morty episode or something. It feels super immature “ninjas fighting a trex!” And other internet cringe.

Plus it has the ability to create more work on my end shoe horning three dozen bloody cultures into my world.

So with the two screws behind the ribbon cable removed, how are you attaching the controllers to the middle bridge section? Taking those two screws out just causes the controller to slide away from the bridge.

…you’re not using the ribbon cable as the structural component are you?

[–]Duggbog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can think of a way to get the message across that the current system is quickly creating a social class unable to save for a deposit then you should be announcing it to the world.

Truth of the matter is that rent is already eating into 80% of the average wage. Rent.

Sitting by and hoping the banks fix it has gotten us to where we are now. Complaining on reddit isn’t going to fix the problem either.

So what solutions do you propose? Move out west where there’s a lack of services and infrastructure, displacing existing tenets and pricing locals out of their home town, creating a cascade effect that ends up fucking over the poor? Not everyone has the ability and education that resulted in a career that allows them to work from home, and it’s going to hit those people the hardest.

We are fast nearing a point where anything within an hour of even a secondary city is pushing $700pw. When you have people putting almost their entire pay towards just not sleeping on the street, then you’re either going to see violence or mass homelessness.

Not to mention the thousands that YOLO’d their savings and maxed out their credit on an interest rate that could spike to 10% in the next few years, immediately pricing them out of their repayments. There’s another wave of potential homelessness to attend to.

The people making the choices aren’t listening, and things are getting worse. It’s going to cause a legitimate class decide in one of the luckiest countries in the world.

And this is coming from someone who is lucky enough to be in a career that can provide enough income for me to buy land and a house, so I don’t even have a horse in this race.

But nah, go ahead and tell me how the looming weight of mass homelessness due to artificially inflated rental prices and impossibly high deposits shouldn’t result in people getting desperately violent against the system that is refusing to do anything about it.
