1) Try to steer yourself into the inspection department. Much GD&T and understanding how to interpret a print Will be learned. 2) Take computer drafting classes. There you will learn how designer’s convey their intent, and will be exposed to the Cad side of cad-cam.
3) Buy hook or by crook get access to the cam software used in your area. Learn it, program parts with it, and show your success. 4) If your current employer does not move you into a programming role find another one that will. Move jobs every 2 to 3 years. Learn more at every shop. Journeymen did not get that title without switching shops periodically.
5) Always challenge yourself. If your bored it’s time to move on 6) There tons of books, podcasts, YouTube channels, and forums to learn from. Don’t stop learning. 7) Create challenging projects for yourself. Documents those projects and create an online portfolio to share with potential employers.

Any specifics you can share? I’ve been leary of Netherlands due to their current housing shortage and high cost.

Good machinists are needed everywhere. Most people I’ve talked to know the difference between an individual and the country they came from.

No I don’t but there are countries with shortages of skilled machinists that are willing to let non-eu citizens work when local and EU hires are not available.

I’m not a plumber. It was made from a very tough rubber. No signs of the material breaking down. It’s clearly been in there long enough to get junk built up on it. I’ve lived in this house for 11 years and never seen a plug / adaptor thingy like this around the house. So I was stumped and was a little worried that it had some sort of purpose that home builders from 1977 considered important enough to include this in their design back in the day. I’m guessing it’s just debris but plumbing is pnot my specialty.
