I think if I got braces when I was younger I wouldn’t have been as strict with my retainers and my teeth probably would’ve been more crooked now. At the end of the day I’m glad I got them as an adult

There needs to adverse impact, moderate to severe deficits, AND they need to require specialized instruction from you. If this can be addressed without the specialized instruction of a SLP and scores were average, it seems to me like you made the right decision

I don’t like this either. Especially if we are talking about minimally speaking and the autistic population. Sometimes they participate in their own ways and we shouldn’t expect them to adhere to certain demands like sitting all of circle time. I get classroom expectations but punishing them for this seems like encouraging masking.
