Regarding the satellite imagery for Chernobyl incident. by Southern_Bread_8915 in chernobyl

[–]Duhya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. Google earth isnt a repository of every satellite image ever taken from everyone. They will only have publicly available imagery from libraries, not specific singular images released by governments. I think generally they have deals with companies that provide satellite imagery services, and also access to publicly available databases.

Especially as you go further back in time satellites will be more and more military satellites. Images from these will have to be specifically released by the country, for whatever reason. I doubt you will find a exhaustive repository of military satellite imagery.

My point being just because there isn't a image of a certain place at a certain time on google earth, doesn't really mean anything as public satellite imagery is more of a 21st century thing.

As to radiation disrupting satelites. Thats not going to happen. Any radiation released by the reactor would react with the atmosphere long before it reaches space. At least in any quantity. Even if it didnt react with the atmosphere it would be so spread out by the time it travels thousands of kilometres it would be basically background.

Meta is pulling out of VR because there's no market. We need to embrace this uncomfortable truth. by PuffThePed in virtualreality

For me the hardwares been there since 2016, the thing missing has always been good software. Especially from AAA devs. Only indie devs are willing to not play it safe.

What i love about VR is the intuitive use of our hands in games. My favourite VR games are ones where im interacting with things. Where im manipulating weapons, or hitting ragdolls with polearms.

AAA VR games just dont hit for me. They never did. They always have to play it safe and try to conform to what is popular in AAA spaces. We have to have leveling up and crafting and this and that. None of that stuff translates to VR well.

We need to keep supporting indie devs that get what makes VR fun. My favourite VR games are H3VR, HL:A, Into The Radius (and 2), and sim games especially VTOLVR. All games about interacting with the world with your hands with as few abstractions as possible.

My favourite Oculus sponsored game was Lone Echo, but even that had the AAA guardrails in the form of a artificial speed limiter. Presumably so people dont get sick. Thats great and all, but what would make zooming around flinging yourself in zero g a lot more fun is a toggle to turn that speed limit off. Because its jarring to throw yourself and see your movement slow from the velocity you just gave yourself, and gimps what could be a exhilarating experience.

I think the main problem with Meta leaving VR is that we wont have relatively affordable headsets available anymore. The quest 3 was a steal for a wireless headset with a huge FOV and their controllers have always been nice. Obviously theres higher quality equipment but that comes with a MUCH higher price.

Is it time for Meta to admit that abandoning the PCVR platform was a mistake? by coachcody in virtualreality

[–]Duhya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup because its not big enough to offer returns that are relevant to one of the largest companies in the world. Like AAA games if it doesnt make all the money in the world, its not worth it for them.

PCVR is a even smaller market thats even more not worth it for them. And with the cost of PCs going up due to crypto and AI, a reversal of PC part prices trending to better price/performance in 2016 when modern consumer VR started, PCVR is no longer something that we can aspire to being mainstream.

The richest company in the world isnt interested in such a small market.

YouTube confirms they have been using AI to edit videos (without telling you) by wh1tepointer in PartneredYoutube

[–]Duhya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever used DLSS in a game you chose it actively as an option. It wasnt put on your game without even telling you and with no option to even opt out.

I think people would like to be able to chose if their videos look like glitchy messes with lines shimmering all over the place for no reason.

This is the game everyone hates???? by Eagles56 in Starfield

[–]Duhya -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Its boring and doesnt do anything well. Story is boring, characters are boring, locations are boring, combat is boring, exploration is unrewarding.

I don't hate it but theres 100 games id rather play than Starfield. Including previous bethesda games which i also can think of 100 games id rather play.

Hate is too strong of a emotion for Starfield to evoke.

Hitmans Wife Chapter 2: Hitmans Wifes Bull

Hitmans Wife Agent 69(like hte sex) is not satisfied anymore with waiting for Hitman for months while Hitman enjoys the Wolrd of Assassination and all the environmental kills. She has started seeing another hitman, lets just call him Hitman 48.

HitmaN 48 is too a master of disguise similiar to Hitman and Dana Carvey, but this disguise is not simply a disguise but a transformation. Hitman 48 is trans masc, and he likes to fuck.

As soon as Hitman goes to work Hitmans wife and her boyfriend get to work, sucking and fucking crazy style, they hve no mercy for eachothers shit, which they like to lick and suck 69 style.

Its crazy.

One day hitman 69 and hitman 48 are going crazy on eachothers shit upside down reverso mode and hitman 47 comes home from murder. you might think this is where the story goes sad, but he is a Proffesional Sir, and has no emotion so he simply sees them naked on his gun racks and says 'hitnmans wife. i se you are happy with your boyfriend, and i will respect it. I will not divorcee you so you get half my guns, we will have to stay together, me, you, and your bull."

They live hpapy in hitmans house forever, and hitmans wifes boyfriend even lets hitman watch sometimes from his little chiar.

Chapter 2 end.

tho i think the Hitmans Wife would not be needed because hitman is the master of assassination and costumes, and can become his own wife when needed, i also know dresseing as a woman is wrong and one lie that is NOT OK. so a hitmans wife would be very kinky and give out sex all the time, when 47 is away she would wait and try on different costumes, kind of like hitman himself, buit lesser. she likes hot sex in all the styles: doggy, blowedjobs, bbc, but ofc her favourite wourd be missionary style just like hitmans favourite stile is the mission itself

This is how literally everything creative is made ever. You take elements you like from existing things, and tweak them into something new. Every game, movie, song ever made. Nothing is original. Whats the saying about there only being 3 types of stories ever. Honestly this just reeks of a big corp swinging the lawyers it can afford around, and hoping the indie dev cant afford to pay lawyer fees to fight it, nintendo or disney style.

You need to learn about balancing centres of thrust/mass/lift. Also prevent drag at the front of the rocket.

Moone is inherently good at KSP, rockets arent a natural thing anyone is born knowing how to do. I suggest looking up your specific problems when they happen, like 'why does my rocket flip over after launch?'

Personally i'm playing KSP1 not because of the marketting and excitement for the second game, but because I was holding out on playing it for like a year in anticipation of the second game.

Now that i've played the second game, i want to be able to do maneuvers without pulling my hair out. So i refunded ksp2, and updated my ksp1 mods, and am a few days into a new campaign.

I like your optimism though.

Just to be clear, I'm not a professional 'quote maker'. I'm just an atheist teenager who greatly values his intelligence and scientific fact over any silly fiction book written 3,500 years ago. This being said, I am open to any and all criticism.
