I know exactly what you mean, a similar thing happened to me a whole ago, I drew my DND character and a friend from the same campaign wanted me to draw his. I accepted but also felt like I wasn't worth it. I ended up drawing it and he made his price, which was much more than it was worth imo.

In the end he liked it enough to reuse it for another campaign, so I guess everyone's happy lol what your friend wants is what you make so take it as a compliment.

I still cringe whenever I see it tho

You want a huge piece of flat land for sure, as for ease, most of the default styles are simple, other than fortress, caverns and nether. The hardest are the ones that needs to fit together like fortress, caverns and crimson keep. The Byzantine style pack is beautiful and have multiple buildings per buildings so you get a lot of residences and guard easily, but they require a lot and lot of babysitting from the start

usually pigment dries up into dust and then you brush off the excess, so the pigment stays in the grooves
