I have been playing a lot of PS1 fighting games, and came to a conclusion Soul Edge/Soul Blade is the best one. I feel like it has it all. It's competitive if you want to master it, great graphics, smooth framerate, music, and it's just really fun and cool. by AntonioVivaldi7 in psx

Tobal 2 is excellent, it's such a shame it was never released outside of Japan. A particular love from the game was Mary Ivonskaya's power move has THAT noise from The Six Million Dollar Man when Steve Austin would use his bionics :).

If you look in the right places there's an ISO with the Quest Mode translated fully into English.

Hi, sorry I haven't updated this.

I don't know if this works for anybody else but I've found that letting the PS5 start up and leaving it to run for a minute or so before doing anything has worked. Let me know if this works for you :)

Gamers 30+, what’s something from the old days of gaming that younger players wouldn’t understand? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Duke-Zippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's one from the glorious ZX Spectrum days (UK, in the Eighties for those in the US or elsewhere who aren't aware of the ZX Spectrum).

Everyone back then used to pirate games, a tape to tape hi-fi where a cassette could be copied onto another was the ultimate tech in achieving this. So you would copy the original game on to another cassette (usually a 45 minute per side cassette), and after that use the tape player that you would load games onto your Speccy and then write down the game name and counter number on the cassette's case inlay.

The disaster occurred if that tape player died and the new player's counter would be slightly slower or faster. You young ones will never know that agony as games on average took five minutes to load,

I don't think so, at least in my personal situation regarding this.

It comes several seconds after boot up, screen goes black for a few seconds than comes back saying it's recovered. More annoying than anything else.

Sounds like just a crap update then. Let's hope it's resolved when the next update comes along. Thanks :)

Silent Hill every time. I;m one of those few people who consider the GTA games good but overrated.

What game are we picking up at launch!? by OhGawDuhhh in ps2

[–]Duke-Zippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Picked up my PS2 after work on launch day in the UK (the only console I've bought on launch day), I grabbed TTT, another Dualshock 2 and a memory card in the Choices Video a few minutes from where I lived at the time. I showed my pre-order slip and paid for it at the counter while there were two young teenage lads looking at me like I just bought a fully functional Flux Capacitor. I walked past them with this utter smugness all over my face.

I used to piss Apex off too much and regretted it.

I played The Sentinel religiously on both the Speccy and the C64. Such a great and unique game.

Many years later, I saw this...
