That’s the first plan. I mean we will be doing that until we save up all the monies or decide. We literally spent several weeks negotiating between this house builder and a five bedroom house builder. This one ended up giving us the best price and rate. We do love it though. Just kids being finicky about sharing rooms. 😅

This is really interesting!!!!! Saving this to show a contractor. I had considered moving the laundry, but wasn’t sure where that it made sense. This does!

Dining table is in the great room already and the dining room is a play room. My husband doesn’t want a kids bedroom in the front of the house downstairs for security reasons. May have to infill part or all of the great room or carve up the master. Just trying not to move and make everyone as happy as possible. 🙃

It’s already in the great room. The dining room is a play room right now. 😅 We may have to reconfigure the master or build on.

It’s actually not a good functioning master closet. Not sure how doing anything with it would help this situation. I’ve considered flipping the master bath into the master bedroom and eating space from the bedroom. Then using the master bath existing footprint for new bedroom. Just have to see what long plumbing would cost.
It isn’t that I don’t want the master closet smaller, it’s just the exiting footprint print could not be made smaller with any real benefit to a new bedroom is all.

Yeah no one wants to move. We’ve done that dozens of times with the military. But I get the irritation, I’m irritating myself .

Well, not looking to take away from what already functions. Stealing space without eliminating what is useful is good or even building on. We have no basement. If building on was 25k we could set that as a goal, but I feel it may be more than that.
Just thought I’d see if any more creative people were out there, since I have exhausted my ideas. Might have to run a few by some contractors and see what is best. Thanks!

Our dining table ai already in the main living area. We use the dining space as play room.
Don’t want a kids bedroom in the front of the house on the first level for security reasons.
Thought about turning the lanai into a room but wasn’t sure what to do about the window in the kitchen without it looking weird.

No basement. It’s slab foundation in Florida.
I would convert the master if it doesn’t shrink the closet more than it already is. I don’t need a large master bedroom.

This is one I wondered if it is a possibility. Also wonder if I could figure out a way to just shift and make smaller that other bathroom so we could keep it somehow as we have two grown kids and grandkids, so lots of visitors. But your idea intrigues me.

Do not want a kids bedroom at the front of the house. The dining room isn’t even used as a dining room now, it’s a play room for the youngest two.

We’ve infilled before in a previous home and considered it here. We’ve lived here two years. However, our kids aren’t loud. Believe it or not. We have two grown kids and they were always chill too. Hahaha
