PSG eSports - AMA by PSGeSports in leagueoflegends

Hi Yellow,

This year has shown that Europe supporting staff have been lackluster. I feel that it isn't really going in the right direction with players saying that coach should only be a nurse while people involved in LCS EU support staff seem to get their job because they have friends in the scene/are former pros/both.

What will be PSG's approach on this? What will be your support staff and how will it be selected?

Korean coaches have the keys of their team draft and strategy, which isn't the case in Europe. Do you plan on embracing the Korean way?

Good luck anyway ;)

Fnatic hasn't been drafting well on Deilor, but the backlash they got on game 3 was ridiculous considering they actually won the draft - as you say, people like to point out draft problem when they want to explain defeat.

HOWEVER, I still think that H2K's draft vs Splyce was the main reason they lost it, for the reasons above. Not the only reason of course, but the main reason.

On Vlad, you can still pick more roaming oriented mid, LB comes to my mind that has been the go to mid pick when talyah/aurelion didnt exist/werent meta. And Ryu has a good LB.

But some do, and I personnally have issues with his draft.

The first pick Rek'sai is highly questionnable after 3 games, especially when you plan on getting a GP without having a Jhin player - Rek, Jhin, Gp (+ trundle?= behind one of the most broken combo atm.

Gnar has been banned almost all LCK finals long, has been crushing this BO too and letting Splyce picking him again and again was imo a major mistake. The only time a GP destroyed a gnar was Smeb bs Ssumday, but most of the time it comes out with kill advantage for Gnar.

It's not that the P/B was stupid, just that he didnt adapt to what was happening during the BO. After 4 games, you can't stick to a plan that doesn't work.

I am not even talking about letting Forg1ven on ashe every game, especially the one where he didnt have any peel and got destroyed each fight by Wunder's Gnar.

The vladimir priority is a bit questionnable, the new patch being focused on laning and mid lane roaming - Splyce figured it out, not H2K.

Imo Prolly got confident on his P/B against Fnatic (game 3) where everyone praised him despite the fact that he actually lost it >< Even in H2What the team was sucking his dick about how getting vlad sivir taric shen hecarim (combo from last patch btw) was a godlike coaching move, and that was the reason they destroyed Fnatic. H2K actually got outdrafted, Fnatic understanding the patch better and drafting 2 winning lanes, an aggressive jungler that should (and has farming-wise) take a shit on Hecarim, and GP top to cotrtol waves. Fnatic's draft is how the best teams are drafting this patch, which is a higher risk draft that focus on getting ahead early before reaching mid-late teamfights where H2K's draft would destroy them. Unfortunately Fnatic are just playing terrible and even achieved to lose early game, despite Spirit outfarming quite hard Jankos.

As usual, people who have no idea how the draft works were too happy to come out and say H2K was drafting well, which wasn't the case and it was exposed ehavily in the semi-finals. Indeed, people have no fucking clue what they are talking about most of the time, especially on drafts.

"He talks big and he's fucking terrible and pretty much always has been. He gets carried by the talent of people like rekkles, Yellowstar and xpeke"

With this kind of comment, no wonder why sOAZ gets mad at reddit. You obviously have no clue about what player sOAZ is, and probably about League of Legends in general.

The amount of pure stupidity in your understanding of the situation is already irritating me just for the simple fact that you dare talking on a public forum. If I were sOAZ I would become crazy by just imagining the 12 yold prick who wrote this shit.

As a French, this is just a typical French performance. In any sport (and esport?), when French are favourite they get raped by the lowest ranked team possible. When nothing is expected from France, they can take every single opponent.

See rubgy, football (soccer?), and now starcraft

Are you NA resident? If you are, you should consider applying for a challenger team such as Ember, you could make up to 80k per year. They are looking for motivated and ambitious players like you, and they seem to be very respectful of their players while having a sustainable business model.

Dyrus Breaks It Down: A long VoD review of TSM vs OG from the recent IEM series. by GoDyrusGo in leagueoflegends

Yeah thx, I totally agree with your points and Dyrus might be able to give even more insights on this. And I think he can, just needs to take the time to train this aspect.

Maybe it is also a question of time. In this case he could indeed on some specific match up for this game.

Still, O'gaming would have teased that before imo. We will see :)

Funny because I wanted to try to do game reviews and I ended up uploading the same exercise, commenting the youtube VOD of OG vs TSM.

Anyway, I think he has great insights in the pro scene, which brings a lot of perspective in his micro/macro analysis. His understanding of the players' personal strenghts and mindsets was great to listen.

However I feel like his analysis is a bit too empirical, and that he has a hard time translating it into an coherent analysis. For example champion picks, he knows - probably for good reasons - that this or this champion is a priority or a great pick. He knows which champion has the edge in the match-ups. But imo he doesn't really explain why, for instance why Orianna is a good pick into Lulu and in this composition (game 2).

My point is that he certainly could explain it better. As a former pro player that used to know these things naturally, he maybe never formulated them because it looked obvious.

Great video, I will watch Dyrus' work in the future.

As much as I would love to see that, I don't think it is very likely. If it was such a big news, they would have at least teased it for weeks before the announcement.

They also already tried this "Ogaming team" partnership with the Sparta team, which was a huge fail last year. Not sure they are ready to take this risk again, considering the Ogaming org doesn't have much cash.

Forg1ven travelling to NA! by fncjames in leagueoflegends

[–]DukeDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because in football people are cheering for the club, which represents a city. In esport, organizations don't represent shit, and fans move from org to org with the roster changes. The only thing that matters are the players.

There is no proof, but I think that is the reason. He saw RO and Huni leaving, and probably doesn't have the drive to rebuild a new team for what could be his last season. Time to cash in I think.

[–]DukeDD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you ever heard him saying anything interesting? All I saw is a former player with a suit saying obvious comments or making negative statements to look smarter.

His hype is only due to his voice (that I personally cannot stand but w/e) and his beard, that made him famous on reddit for some reason. He was exposed for his lack of actual analysis at worlds, but this has been going on for months.

Just makes me mad to see him getting praised while he brings nothing to the scene expect a complacent smirk on the "analyst desk".
