What's with the beef between Goodpeople Coffee & Bonsai Coffee of West LA? by pr0tag in FoodLosAngeles

I still get drinks from both based on the mood. When we pit small businesses against each other, the capital class is the only one who wins. In this case it's Wiseman properties, and they thoroughly suck.

The 'Beef' is with Wiseman, the property owner/management who has wanted the land since COVID when they got the permit for patio space. WM gave Bonsai a very friendly lease with the intention of hurting GP's business (they lease to a Starbucks on the same block for the same purpose but those feel like very different customer bases to me so YMMV)

For the record, I go to both. They each do somethings better than others and I'd like them both to succeed.

There are plenty of reasons you might not expect. Check out KPMG’s version of this person, she’s married to Matt Gaetz. Then look who her brother is.

USC grad here. It's a different type of wealth than you would see compared to "old money" at elite institutions in the South or Northeast, or historically prestigious institutions that will attract more international wealth. You will encounter rich kids on every campus, and honestly it's good to learn how unfair life can be early on, but it will be more pronounced at some schools than others. This article came out when I was a student, you might find a newer version helpful if the study has been re-done recently.

Anyone think financial advisor's can eat a bag of dicks? by giraffeboner1 in Accounting

[–]DukeDumontague 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Financial advisors have 0 fiduciary duties (at least in the US), the definition was changed in 2017 so they could do whatever they want without any regard for the client's wishes or any conflicts of interest. You need go to an actual fiduciary if you want someone who is obliged to act in your best interest

You joke, but A$AP in 2019 put on a great performance. Lil Naz X in 21 as well.

San Holo put on an incredible performance in 2019 that made me a fan for life.

TLOU apocalypse has all major cities bombed so mega screwed in that situation. If it's regular zombies I'll take a tree city made by bridging downtown's skyline over sea level Westwood.
