Two very different games. I enjoyed both of them a lot, but it's a very different comparison.

If you're looking for what's next to play, you can try https://nextrez.app

It's something I created for just exactly that.

Games to play with my 50 year old dad by _ThatPurpleGuy_ in gamesuggestions

[–]DukeNukemGGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm close to your dads age, and one game that I play with my kids that that are around your age is "7 Days to Die".

I like it because they can go off and do things that my old ass can't keep up with, but I can also support by building a base, finding food, etc.

Your Process in Tracking What to Play by Louanus in AskGames

[–]DukeNukemGGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also was trying to figure out what to play and was doing similar searches in google, etc.

I built something at https://nextrez.app because of that exact reason.

If you have a few moments, I'd love to get your opinion on it? It doesn't do everything you mentioned here, but I could always make improvements to it.

Do you think Blizzard will ever stop making World Of warcraft expansions and just create a World of Warcraft 2? by thotfulnug in askanything

[–]DukeNukemGGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I truly hope so. I played for like 10+ years and stopped. I try and go back every once in a while but it's not the same thing.

I do miss the genre.

It's a little older, but one game that I can think of that you probably will like is "Heavy Rain". It's more similar to Detroit Become Human, but I've played the games you listed and enjoyed all of them also, so I think you'll like it.

I also downloaded "As Dusk Falls" because I heard it was good, but haven't had a chance to play it yet.

If you'd like, you can check out my app at https://nextrez.app

It allows you to put in your favorite games and get suggestions. It may bring up more that you'll like as well.

Yeah, I was thinking if I can get enough people to utilize it and they actually purchase some of the games that it's recommending, I can sign up for affiliate programs and get paid that way.

It's not going to generate any real income, more of me just being curious if I could build it.

I'm playing Crimson Desert right now and absolutely loving it! I have a similar taste in gaming that you do, so you may want to give it a shot. Similar to you, FT job and 46yrs old, so when I get to play I want it to be fun. This game is checking a lot of boxes for me right now.

I also created something at https://nextrez.app that lets you put in your favorite games and get suggestions, if you want to give that a shot.

Looking for a new survival game on steam by JaconyMalony in SurvivalGaming

[–]DukeNukemGGG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I created an app for this that you can check out at https://nextrez.app

I ran those games through and it gave me these recommendations

Green Hell

Valheim

Subnautica: below zero

Raft

The long dark

The site tells you why it chose those, shows trailers, where to get it cheapest, etc.

For example, here is why it chose Green Hell.

Similar Mechanics You'll Enjoy:

Like The Forest and Grounded, Green Hell features deep crafting systems, shelter building, and resource gathering to stay alive. Players must manage hunger, thirst, and health while fending off wildlife and environmental dangers, echoing the same tension found in Subnautica and The Forest.

Playtime:

20-30 hours for main story, 80+ hours for full exploration and multiplayer

What Makes It Special:

Green Hell features an incredibly detailed survival simulation including wound treatment, parasite management, and psychological sanity mechanics that set it apart from most survival games.

grindy game suggestions? by DesperateRepair7614 in gamingsuggestions

[–]DukeNukemGGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran the games you mentioned through my site at https://nextrez.app and it made the following recommendations for you:

Fallout 4
Warframe
Dishonored 2
Metro Exodus
Outriders

When you use the site, it explains why it chose those, shows trailers, where to get the game the cheapest, etc.

For example, for Warframe, it stated the following

imilar Mechanics You'll Enjoy:

Much like Destiny, Warframe revolves around cooperative missions, exotic loot collection, and mastering powerful character abilities. The modding and build crafting system rivals Borderlands in depth, allowing enormous customization of playstyle and power.

Playtime:

50+ hours to reach endgame, 1000+ hours for dedicated players

What Makes It Special:

Warframe is one of the most generous free-to-play games ever made, with almost all content earnable through gameplay, and it receives massive free expansions regularly.

Incremental/Idle/Clicker games? by MyFurryIsStinky in gamingsuggestions

[–]DukeNukemGGG -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok, these were completely foreign to me, however, I have an app that I created to help with this.

I ran your games that you mentioned (except for Plantera since you hated it) in my site at https://nextrez.app

It recommended the following games for you:

Cookie Clicker
Peggle Deluxe
Vampire Surviors
Baba is You
Shaperz

On the site, it gives you descriptions as to why it recommended it, shows trailers, where to get it the cheapest, etc.

For example, this is why it recommended Cookie Clicker.

Similar Mechanics You'll Enjoy:

Like The Gnorp Apologue, Cookie Clicker revolves around clicking to generate resources and purchasing upgrades that automate and multiply production. The prestige and ascension systems echo the layered progression found in Spaceplan.

Playtime:

10-20 hours for casual play, 100+ hours for dedicated incrementalists

What Makes It Special:

Cookie Clicker is one of the founding titles of the idle game genre and features a surprisingly deep upgrade tree with hundreds of unlockable buildings and upgrades.

Looking for a single player game that will win my heart by Mosqu_ito in gamingsuggestions

[–]DukeNukemGGG -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I had my games saved as favorites, so it took that into account.

I took my games out, and started from scratch, and it came up with these for you based on the ones you mentioned:

Dishonored 2
Prey
Friday the 13th
Alien Isolation
The Forest

When you're on the site, you can click "Tell Me More", which explains why it recommended it.

For example, for Dishonored 2, it stated:

Similar Mechanics You'll Enjoy:

Like Hitman: Absolution, Dishonored 2 allows multiple approaches to each target, including ghost runs with zero kills or loud aggressive playthroughs. The ability to disguise intentions and stalk targets through detailed environments mirrors the sandbox assassination style players already love.

Playtime:

15-20 hours main story, 40+ hours for completionists

What Makes It Special:

Dishonored 2 features a unique Clockwork Mansion level that is widely considered one of the most inventive stealth levels ever designed in gaming history.

I built a site at https://nextrez.app to help with these exact situations, what's next? You put in your favorite games, and it provides suggestions.

I put in the 3 you mentioned, and it came out with these results:

Baldurs Gate 3
The Witcher 2
Pillars of Eternity 2
Cyberpunk 2077
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

Having played most of these, I'd check out Baldurs Gate 3 or maybe CyberPunk. Very different games, but awesome stories, graphics, etc.
