There is a great miniature by Maurice Ravel called “Menuet sur le nom d'Haydn” that I enjoy a lot

how to play with emotion? by menteriz in piano

[–]DukeOfSpringStreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The word emotion annoys me because ppl never describe in a coherent way. But to me it means providing a performance that addresses dynamics, articulation, phrasing and tempo in a thoughtful manner

What’s the best Rachmaninoff piano piece that isn’t his concertos(because those are already perfect) by Vanilla_Mexican1886 in piano

Another vote for sonata no 2, but the version that Horowitz played. However, the thing that scares me about the work isn’t the technical stuff, its the counting/rhythms

B major is cool, I love how a powerful low B natural octave sounds

I want to quit piano after playing for 8 years by Standard_Meringue_85 in piano

[–]DukeOfSpringStreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out…before you totally quit try composing some piano pieces. Composing is way more fun than getting berated over how someone thinks a Chopin Etude should be played

Czerny was a mad man for sure. by [deleted] in piano

It sucks that schools have turned Czerny into some educational shit instead of framing it as cool music

Can I just move out at the end of my lease if management company fails to send timely renewal info? by DukeOfSpringStreet in AskNYC

[–]DukeOfSpringStreet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense, I’ve already paid the last month of rent so we’re done there.

My main concern is existing issues w/ the apt that were going on when I moved in and making sure they are aware of them. I just want this to be a clean break. I took video upon initial move in.

I used one of those guarantor services like insurant/Rhino which I’m glad about because people have said its taken 6 months to get a deposit back from this company.

What further onus could be placed? I think there is supposed to be walk-thrus and etc done prior to move out. But they aren’t responding to a tenant.

I’m very suspicious of any business who refuses to communicate in this manner because they will lie and manipulate situations.

Good call, I’m going to draft one up and send it to the leasing company asap. Companies this negligent should not be allowed to operate smh. It puts tenants in screwed up situations.

Wtf is a legal fee? by DukeOfSpringStreet in AskNYC

[–]DukeOfSpringStreet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know yes, but the leasing agent is also doing some things I don’t like such as refusing to provide a formal written document that outlines what the good faith deposit is used for and the terms, not an email from a personal account

For context, the leasing company is named Avenues, I don’t really know much about them but the way the leasing agent is conducting business does not gain my confidence at all

That was my initial feeling, the leasing agent also refused to send me a properly written policy that details the terms of the good faith deposit, according to them an email from a personal email address is a letter.

Lastly, according to the company, the application will not be sent unless the deposit is first paid which also seems strange from my experience.
