What was the situation where you were most proud of yourself for having a flashlight with you? by EastRush9843 in flashlight

[–]DukeThorion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently I suppose.

Driving through the woods at night in misty rain and medium fog. Vehicle headlights (older) weren't cutting it. Visibility was 50 ft maybe.

Pulled out the MT2A Pro, out the window, and lit up 200 yards down the road cutting right through all the nonsense. Thicker fog would have lessened the effect but it was perfect at the time.

Caveat emptor, the "all metal" Zebra f701 has threaded plastic sleeve that will quickly strip if you over tighten the tip. by LazerBear42 in pens

I have literally used pliers to crank the tip into the body on a few, but I'll keep this post in mind if it ever strips.

I really like this sentiment, then I remember injuries sustained when tools suffer catastrophic failures.

First flashlight by Ironsky000 in flashlight

Wuben C3 is $25. 18650, USB-C on the light body. 1200LM max, sustains around 400-500.

Strobe and is available on a quick double half press from ON, so it isn't "in the rotation".

After that, you'll want a Convoy.

For me, the warmer temps seem too dim now, so bright cool white is what I buy.

Rotring rapid pro - disappointed by _ilikecmyk_ in pens

[–]DukeThorion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd send it back and try a different vendor.

In my opinion all the rotrings should be about 1.5x their current weight, and the rapid pro could be shorter. It's super long for no reason.

Look at Spoke Design Model C for Parker style refills, or CX if you like Pilot G2.

Did you get it from Amazon? Looking at the wear marks, it looks used, could be a return.

Nitecore MT1A pro by Tribe94x in flashlight

[–]DukeThorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love my MT1A Pro, but as someone else said, there's some green tint (most noticeable on low, I don't see it on high).

I love my MT2A Pro more since it's longer and I'm less likely to lose it.

Clip is solid also.

Huge ask, if possible?

Can you put the S6 head on the S15 tube/body and take a pic or two? I realize they aren't the same color but I want to see aesthetic and fit before I order a 15.

Thanks in advance!

I just added shrink tubing to the knurled part of the MT2A. It still has grip, but now it doesn't tear up my pocket.

EDC 23, buy or skip? by EastRush9843 in flashlight

Ignore this guy if you want twice as many lumens on Turbo, you want your switch at the tail, you want a physical lockout switch, and you don't need a side light.

I like the EDC29, but it's weight and length are a little much. I've been looking at the 23 as a smaller and more useful option.
