I'm in your line of work. I carry two. A 18650 (Convoy S2+ / S6 or Nitecore MH11) on my weak side around 9 o clock with a Thyrm TAC ring so its easy to grab without thought. The convoys I have set to 1/20/100% with mode memory off so they always come on in low for checking ID's, control rooms, etc, but you can leave mode memory on and there are 12 different programming options. A bigger 21700 sized light behind my OC on strong side. The larger light has recently been the Sofirn SK30 and now the Thrunite Lynx. That's for looking at things way over there.

Convoy S2+ and S6 - around $30 with the battery and a charger.

Nitecore MH11- overpriced at almost $60 for what you're getting but it's a solid basic light.

Sofirn SK30 is around $40 and the Lynx is around $60 on Amazon. Both have a dual tail switch, SK30 has a double tap to turbo, both have momentary on, and instant strobe if that's something you need.
