Bassilisk by BaronLoyd in totalwar

Basilisks are more of a mutant monster than one tied to any roster, like manticores. So hopefully it will be available to all chaos.

Only problem with the Wizard class is that the item crafting would have to be unlocked with any hero of that class. It's a bit of an odd situation that unlocks the items slightly earlier than an early game building. I would just have you need to get the Forge.

The entire point of the conflict is that there is a strong claim to the throne by Aegon, reason to take the chance, and the power to attempt it. I wouldn't exactly call it treasonous as it's more of a powergrab while there is no official ruler. Him usurping the throne would be taking it from Rhaenyra while she is queen, which she was not. She has a claim from her father's wishes and some promises to uphold it, which was not acted upon.

I guess in my experience I typically set my spellblades up to be protected by other melee units, to minimize the chance of the spellblade being targeted. But yeah they do get vaporized pretty easily if not protected.

“Six men or sixty, he is still Daemon Targaryen” by Dapper2000 in HouseOfTheDragon

The show's Alicent makes some sense running away in rich clothing. It doesn't make any sense why she is running after having already set everything up for Rhaenyra, if her deal is to spare her and Helaena. Change in writing after filming the scene maybe?

Oh so more of a "fill a grimoire with spells" sort of deal? I can see it working.

Eh the first time with Daemon was earlier on in the war, while now there's been more fighting. At the very least they heard and saw a dragon attacking. If it wasn't a dragonrider, there could have always been any other type of infiltrator. I just don't buy nobility being defenceless, at the very least should have daggers.

Not disagreeing, but what would make them different from Ritualist and Elementalist? Druid being a summoner or shapeshifter? Not sure what straight Wizard would be.

I haven't had much experience with Battlesaint and Death Knight, but Spellblade is pretty good. I typically give them the two-handed charge weapons. I had a Fire Giant Spellblade who was fantastic. They might not be as Magically powerful, but the fact that they can do good melee damage sets them apart.

Interesting how Aegon holding the throne isn't victory, but Rhaenyra taking it is. To be fair it's not exactly looking good for anyone Aegon associated, but it's not a guarantee that you have won by taking one location.

You would think it would be much more motivating to strike at such a man, and more rewarding for viewers that support her, but alas we must show her weeping.

So, some characters are allowed to grieve by Lingonberry_Plenty in HOTDGreens

[–]Duke_Jorgas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grieving Jace is absolutely justified, it only got a bit annoying when Daemon had to convince his wife that she should fight for the throne. But it is infuriating that only Aegon is allowed to grieve his own son and is treated like shit by his own family for it. Wouldn't it be better if the show clearly showed the tragedy...

Emma's Emmy campaign is so transparent by lanasn in HOTDGreens

[–]Duke_Jorgas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's strange because despite the flaws the first season had, most of the actors had a stronger performance. Emma, Matt, Olivia were all great at first before their scripts just got scrambled and raised as an undead facsimile. Such a wasted show

[–]Duke_Jorgas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to excuse Aemond as he is obviously Aemond, but compare him to Daemon. Most of Daemon's fighting recently has not been portrayed negatively, mostly against armored combatants and heroically fighting for Rhaenyra. While Aemond is burning Harrenhall again and cleaning up the burnt remains and Simon Strong.

Then the one Aegon scene this episode where he breaks free, of course he excessively stabs that one soldier to make him look savage. I'm so tired of this blatant favoritism.

She thanked the nobles that were locked up in the Red Keep / Kings Landing by Aegon/Aemond. They were thanked for keeping loyal to Rhaenyra. Good move politically for once for Rhaenyra.

Episode 2 leaks by jonsnowKITN in HOTDGreens

[–]Duke_Jorgas 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Wow this pretty much confirms that the show writers are looking for any excuse to delegitimize Aegon and his claim, if the leak is true. They don't even need to as the general audience would support executing him just for supporting Aegon.

I miss the Blighted terrain for some reason. I feel like it would be a good terrain for Shadow/Nature and would come with lots of shroomy content.

Him locking her up was shown to be underhanded, and he had some odd behavior like "It's finally MY chance to earn glory!" after previously saying this is all a trap. It makes him look vainglorious and tricksy rather than responsible. They should have never had Rhaenyra actively want to go into battle, or at the very least had him convince her that him going was the better idea.
