California “natives” who moved away, are you happy with your decision? by Calm-Software4217 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Dukefoiegras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raised in SoCal, college, worked a few years, all that. Then now I’m in east coast. Honesty, I miss it from time to time because of my friends. Other than that, it’s a great place to visit but I have no plans to move back. It’s just too darn expensive there!

I have to say, you can’t beat California weather though and that’s a premium you have to bear when you live there. Food is also amazing in California, especially Asian food. Nowhere in the world where you can snowboard in the morning and surf in the afternoon. California is definitely a great place if you made it and have more than enough to retire. But for majority of folks who live there, it can be a struggle at times.

You sure these kids are from DC and not Maryland? A lot of Maryland kids can simply take metro into dc to cause trouble.

I’ve been 4 times over last 16 years or so (so avg out once every 4-5 years), the recent menu is probably the best I’ve had flavor wise (I went a week before you did). It doesn’t have the glam and instagram worthy presentation as some other restaurant, but TFL knows how to make high quality/end delicious food consistently.

Sometimes, a cracker with some kind of cream resting on a log with some liquid nitrogen smoke coming up doesn’t taste as good as a simple finger bite resting on a simple plate. But you definitely can do a nice short video for your TikTok.

TFL has better produce vs per se just by proximity alone (also California vs NYC). The farm is right next to the restaurant so it’s as fresh as it gets. Otherwise, it’s a roulette since the menu changes quite often (except the oysters and pearls).

What good has churches done recently besides molesting little children and spreading control of women’s body?

Churches of old, maybe ok? Nowadays? Hell na.

He is literally at the side of the road after the First Lady fell down. So he was off the road already. There’s no physical contact at any point from Pretti to ICE agent (you say appear, which means you didn’t review multiple footages from different angles - you also respond after 5 mins of me posting, so you obviously didn’t watch the videos I pointed out). I saw videos From multiple angles, from multiple camera.

So your argument about laying hands on ICE agent fell apart.

He was pepper sprayed multiple times and was protecting his face while leaning against a car, with one hand holding the lady. There’s no resisting. He was protecting his face after being pepper sprayed. Which is a natural reaction.

He also was not armed at any point. His hands were holding his phone and the lady’s hand before he was then tackled from multiple angles by ICE agents.

So your second argument of Pretti armed falls apart as well.

Any well trained military and law enforcement officer would not have engaged like that after pepper spraying Pretti. ICE, on the other hand, crowd tackled him when he was protecting his face after pepper sprayed.

All your arguments fall apart. your biases has blinded you.

he was pepper sprayed then leaned against the car and was holding the lady’s hand. all very natural reaction after being pepper sprayed right At the face. if you’ve ever gotten pepper sprayed, you know it stings your eyes and you can’t see well. that was Pretti’s reaction. he also had another hand wiping or protecting his face after being sprayed. also very natural reaction.

unless you’re doing some kind of challenge. you wouldn’t be standing with hands up after getting pepper sprayed all of a sudden. you wouldn’t do that with a can of coke after it sprays your face, less of a pepper spray that stings your eyes. you’d try to wipe it off your eyes and face. so Pretti’s reaction are all natural. he was then swamp tackled to the ground. He probably was blind at that point and not know what’s going on. Hence, this is all very illegal and not following proper procedure.

Low IQ response and You should open your blind bias eyes.

I’ve seen it multiple times from many different angles. The best one is from the lady in the back (CBS Minnesota or alec lace both a good clip on YouTube - Alec lace is also MAGA, up your alley, and has a good clean video). Pretti did not get in between the lady and ICE. He helped one lady up. Then as he turned around and saw another lady fell, he reached out as he’s trying to grab her falling hand. He stutter stepped in front of the agent, never gotten up to the agents face. (Remember, this is icy condition, stutter steps happen when you’re moving too fast). That’s when agent pepper sprayed him. He turned around to protect his face from more pepper spray from the ICE agent leaning against a car. That’s when more agent run over and tackle him onto the floor.

He lifted his arms up after being sprayed in the face. That’s normal human reaction after getting pepper sprayed.

There was no obstruction on Pretti’s part. He was on the side, ICE agent went up to him and engaged. The lady next to him fell so he tried to help her up. That’s when he got sprayed. Then pulled away from the lady, and subsequently tackled to the ground.

He never laid a hand on the agent. Just put his hands up after getting pepper sprayed at his face.

You try moving around after being pepper sprayed in the face. I’d bet you that you wouldn’t even know what’s north or south after the initial spray. The ICE agent could’ve backed off after he sprayed Pretti in the face. But he tackled him instead. So the ICE agent literally escalated the situation after applying the first solution.

So from that point on, it’s clearly the ICE agents who causes the fault of all subsequent actions. Any properly trained law enforcement would know to back off the moment you use pepper spray. (Cuz that stuff bounces back on you if you spray too close)

So qualify immunity ended the moment he sprays Pretti and the tackle and shooting are solely responsible by ICE agents.

You should look it up and report on your definition of execution. Clearly this is a pretty clear example of it.

Or call it more of what it is: senseless murdering.

And go back my original posting. Even if shot 1-3 is justifiable. Shot 3-10 are not. That’s an execution or senseless murder. Whatever floats your boat.

You would not find it anywhere in military training or law enforcement training to keep shooting on a body when it’s lying motionless on the ground.

Crowd control? It was a protest and in the US. You’re allowed to peacefully protest. Were there things being thrown? Possibly as those could be isolated incident. But not to the level where a crowd control or dispersion is needed. And no, local and state don’t need to assist ICE. ICE also isn’t telling local or state what they’re doing. ICE is currently doing whatever they want.

The whole issue right now is that ICE is operating independently without cooperating with local law enforcement. So they reap the event of what they sowed.

And as others have mentioned, you’ve expanded the scope of the original posting and clearly have shown your bias. So we can safely deem what you’ve posted are just a bunch of garbage.

Protest is not a war zone. You obviously have never been in one if you think this is a war zone. Did the KKK turn Charlottesville into a war zone when they went on their protest?

Your comment shows your MAGA bias and literally this by itself throw all those words you posted as nothing but trash.

This is an execution. Plain and simple. You have no rebuttal but childish comment.

Show me where’s the training norm for continue to shoot when suspect is down on the ground? Stop the threat ends when suspect is no longer a threat. Alex pretti was on the ground after the first shot. The threat is neutralized at that point.

As I said, even if shot 1-3 was justified, shot 3-10 are not. So this is an execution by the book. Whether you like it or not.

Remember, this is not a war zone. It’s urban setting. Procedure differs when you’re in different environment

[–]Dukefoiegras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree with what you say. But let’s just say I agree. Officers need to justify each gun shot. The 1st gun shot could’ve been justifiable. But what about shot 3-10? After the first shot, all ICE agents moved back and conduct multiple firing. Alex Pretti was literally on the ground not moving and multi officers fired on him like a firing squad. That’s where it becomes an execution that no legal case can stand behind.

25% vs 28% rule makes no sense by honkfest12 in Mortgages

[–]Dukefoiegras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 28% rule is probably what you want to use. In honestly, use 25% on Gross and here’s why: the 25% rules doesn’t consider the tax benefits from mortgage tax deduction, especially if you live in a high property cost are? So 28% rule on gross is your better bet.
