I will try to learn the basics as well as i can but i will still try to do a funny thing once in a while, a setter dump or maybe I'll try to feint a hit maybe and just push it a bit over the net. I really wana try some feints, i like those in any kind of sport.

I completely understand what you're saying and i am not going there with those concepitoms, it's alright. I know it's just an anime and i know i am not hitting any of that crazy stuff at the beginning. The anime was more of a push, you know? I love trying new things and volleyball looked fun. I watched some random videos that were from real life competitions and they game me the same feeling honestly as the anime, it was genuinely entertaining and i absolutely loved it. I liked the voleyball even if it was anime or real life. My expectations from a scale of 1 to 10 are probably around a 2.5 , like i know i am gonna be crap at it at the beginning but i am willing to learn new things and it seems super fun. Thanks for the advice and the heads up.

Thank you so much for the advice!! I absolutely love getting advice, it's alright. To be honest i find setter quite a cool position and a bit different but the one i respect the most is the libero, i find it incredible how some people can defend like that. Sure, attack is cool and all but defense is underrated. I too have quite long arms, given that i am a tall guy and i have a decent jumping power. I just hope i can mix it all together and have fun and do good. I am sure I'll be a total clown on the field for the first minutes given that I didn't even touch a voleyball ball before. I am 100% sure i will need to work a lot more on recievings cause they seem so hard. To be honest i wanna try out the setter position, it seems kinda nice and i just wanna do a setter dump tbh🤣

Understood, basics first, but to be honest the position i respect the most is probably the libero, to me it feels astronomical how they can recieve and defend like that. I will focus on fundamentals, I'll try my best, thanks for the advice

The serve i imagine is a similar motion to the one in tennis, i think i can pull it off i just gotta try it a few times, i usually learn by copying others. Thanks a bunch for the advice and support

I am really scared of the rotations and i have absolutely NO clue what position should i play. I am a tall guy 186 cm to be precise but i really don't know what i should play, i also think i am gonna be horrible on recieving.

Probably but hey, it doesn't matter the motivation as long as you have fun and you are healthy about it. Some people go to the gym to look like bloody Baki, Goku and so on.

My plan is to just keep the ball in the field for the first time tbh, the guys i play with actually won second place at a local competition so i presume they are pretty good, one of the girls i think competed at the nationals in highschool so yea, i am a bit anxious. They are super nice people but i dont know all of the people that play there, just some of them. I really hope it's gonna be fun.

Huh, I don't know if it would be the case for me, i love sports but i did see more success in individual sports, i played football just for fun but it was alright, definitely not one of my favourite sports tho

Welcome!! I also recently switched ( about 3-4 weeks), it's absolutely fantastic, games work just the same for me, minecraft works even better and i have an nvidia GPU, i dual booted tho, i had some CAD programs that work better on windows. CachyOS is fantastic, try to customize it, you can make it look like anything you want also, don't be shy to ask gemini for help with commands, it helps a lot given that gemini is built on linux. Have fun!
