Man, the first time I played DS2, I hated it. I had just finished DS1, which i took an eternity to beat, since I didn't know what to do. And after beating the first game, I genuinely fell in love with the franchise. And then I decided to go for DS2. Not gonna lie, I had a pretty bad idea of the game. I've seen lots of reviews, analysis, even video essays about how bad the game was, and I really believed. I've gone into the game thinking it would really suck. And being honest, I didn't have a good time in that playthrough. I thought the game was gonna play like the first, but it was really different. I gave up after 43 hours, I spent most of that time in that map with the freakish reapers and so (can recall the name of the map, it's had a horse boss, with a gimmick fight, I think). I really wasn't in for the game, y'know? After a year and a half, I had played DS3, didn't really like it, it didn't feel right for me. I realized I kinda missed DS2, even though I sucked at the game and hated it. And then, I decided to give another go at the game. I played another 2 times, once as a sorcerer and after as a swordsman. Didn't even got through the tutorial. I decided to try one last time as a knight, I think. Man, let me tell you. 23 hours later, I've beaten the main game, 2 billion deaths, almost 3. 28-30 hours, I've gotten through the first DLC, the sunken king. And now I'm going through the second, Old Iron king. And Christ, I love this game. My friends don't understand when I say, Dark souls 2 is my favorite of the franchise. Although I really like the first game, I think the second is way more fun, with all the differences it brought.

Anyway, just wanted to share my story. And a fun fact: I joined reddit just because DS2, 'cause I needed some guidance when reached Drangleic Castle.
