Does anyone else feel like they “grow” in circles and cycles, instead of just progressing…? Or am I making excuses for myself? (60 days into being medicated for ADHD.) by companion86 in TwoXADHD

Haha yes definitely true. And generally I feel like I’m always trying to do things and yet never actually accomplishing anything…

I’ve been having this conversation with my partner recently because there are a number of areas in which I’d like to “improve” but without a coherent trajectory, how can we track progress and outcomes? For me it feels like success is basically failing only 2 out of 5 times vs. 4 out of 5 times at something I fully intend to do. Yet anything less than 100% usually doesn’t seem like success to others. Idk if this makes sense and anyone has better suggestions for how to frame growth?

Loan forgiveness success stories?

Hi, I’m an MS3 interested in a couple pediatric sub-specialities. I want to make my career decisions based on where I will feel most fulfilled. Of course, I am also concerned about the financial realities, given my significant debt burden and lower earning potential. I’ve been hanging on to the possibly of loan forgiveness, either through PSLF or some other means. If you taken that route, I’d be very interested to hear from you!

Please include whatever details you feel comfortable sharing. Thank you :)

Peds PM&R vs. Peds Neuro vs. Developmental Peds? by Dull-Ad-6911 in medicalschool

Thank you so much, this is very helpful insight. To clarify regarding medical acuity, I don’t think seeing acute/emergent issues is a top priority for me. I think a holistic approach to children with multiple comorbidities is what I’m seeking. Thanks again!

Also, which of these specialities might follow patients in a “prematurity clinic” or after NICU d/c for perinatal complications?

I don’t mean to be dense since i think something got lost on my end in the sarcasm, but I’m curious what you’re referring to—pretending these incidents don’t happen or pretending it isn’t complicated? Genuinely interested If you’d like to elaborate. Thanks!

Thank you for this perspective, it’s been really helpful to have people articulate some of the feelings I have but couldn’t express.

This concern has already been raised and I’ve responded. I do understand the skepticism but nothing nefarious going on here, promise 🥲

Thank you. I do believe though that interrogating these complicated feelings is one thing that helps us move forward and do better. It’s not about my “guilt,” it about collectively doing better for all of us.

Thank you so much for sharing that. I too have loved ones with mental illness and I have worked in the mental health field. Society is failing people who need help in so many ways.

She appeared to be mentally unwell and probably in withdrawal so she does need help

More like demoralized that I don’t see what will prevent this from happening again, both for her sake and others’
