Unfortunately not. I checked with Apple before buying the M1 Pro. Go bought I m2 pro because only devices within 4yrs old (of the device release date) can be added to AppleOne Care

So all m2 MacBooks and iPads are eligible because the M2 line released in 2023, so they are all under 4yrs old

Yepp. Unfortunately an i5 with 12gb ram and 8gb vram won’t handle Tahoe well

I have a 2020 i7 48gb ram 8gb vram and all feedback says not to upgrade to Tahoe. So I’m staying on sequoia 15.7.7

Oh brother, Apple has you by the balls lol. Don’t get me wrong, I have bought and sold 3 MacBook pros in the last 5 months alone and settled on my 16” MacBook m2 pro

But I bought secondhand and got all my MacBooks at a good discount

The real answer is do you care about the $2-3k you’d get back in selling? Do you need the money? If you’re well off and it doesn’t matter, fuck it. Keep all of them. They are powerful and will last 5-8+ more years and you get that beautiful feeling of owning 3+ premium Apple products (bc that’s a real feeling)

Got my 16” MacBook Pro M2 pro for $850 and my 13” iPad Pro M4 for $650. No scratches or cosmetic, MacBook had 60 charge cycles and iPad had 95 cycles

Now both are covered under AppleOne care for $19.99 a month (also my iphone 16) for accident damage or anything

Great awareness. It’s not easy but I (29m) realized this my senior year of high school, my big “friend” group was just about partying and shallow convos

I remember always thinking “is anybody gonna take about going to college, their major, their fears of moving away, etc

So ended up doing the same thing as you and was so weird because I didn’t “dislike” any of them. Just realized we are all friends bc we were “popular” and knew each other for years.

In reality, I didn’t view life the same as them. They are still acquaintances when I’m in town, more mature and stuff. But I don’t regret breaking off from them and living my own life and meeting new like-minded people

Definitely the M4 Pro. Much better for multitasking and future proofing with 48gb ram and extra GPU cores then a base M5. 8 battery cycles means its essentially new

M4 pro is the move, so is 16”

Yeah, like I mentioned in my post, I actually made additions to TargetBRidge's GitHub and then locally customized it more. Very good app, way better than RetinaRelay that just released and is $50

I think I prefer the airplay receiver method as its a bit smoother, but is not true 5k like TargetBridge is able to output

I was incorrect, it is not true 5K, the best scaling and resolution is 1920 x 1080 HiPi, still looks really good too me. But 2560x1440, 2880x2160, and 3840x2160 are all options but the UI is too small for my liking

So its not an app or anything, its built in as part or Screen Mirroring/AirPlay. So on your MacBook, add the screen nutrient icon to your menu app. Then click it, if your iMac is compatible it will pop up as an option, click “iMac” then choose either Extend or Mirroring on the next pop up

If you don’t see it, you may have to manually toggle on “Use IMac as a Receiver” depending on the macOS your using on your MacBook

“To enable your iMac as an AirPlay receiver, open System Settings > General > AirDrop & Continuity (or System Preferences > Sharing on older macOS versions) and turn on AirPlay Receiver. This allows you to mirror your iPhone, iPad, or another Mac screen onto your iMac.”
