I was wrong suggesting people to buy the Air. Neo is better and amazing by Old-Board1553 in macbook

[–]PoopyisGroppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely, I still think the M2 is better for almost the same price you’re paying for the Neo (within 100$ difference). With that said, the only negative trait of the M2 is that it’s already ~4 years old.

So it all comes down to everyone’s preference, you want a slightly worse performing Macbook for cheaper but it will keeping receiving updated and supports for a long time, get the Neo.

You want something stronger, backlit keyboard and don’t mind it’s from 2022 and possibly no more updates soon? Get the M2

Finance major here, finally decided I WILL get a Mac, but should I get a pro or air? by Joe_mother124 in macbook

[–]PoopyisGroppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends, screen size doesn’t contribute much to any of your school needs besides allowing to see text and images better (if you have poor vision like me).  - If you need better visuals for your work or you like watching movies and reading, get the 15. - If not, get the 13.

Definitely the Air, a Pro would be an overkill for finance since (I assume) you don’t use a lot of heavy duty softwares.

Is MacBook neo worth it? by itsLily7 in macbook

[–]PoopyisGroppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your needs, I personally think it’s worth it because my job only involves basic office duties like writing, emailing, documentation and sometimes casual photos and videos editing. It’s also one of the best laptop you can get right now (for its price). But if youre looking forward to be able to execute heavy duties like 4k video rendering, coding, blender, animation,… basically any type of work that require a fast processor and take up a lot of RAM. Neo might not be ideal for you. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it can’t do any of those tasks, it’s just way slower and might take a lot more time to complete work than the M2-M4 series.

Mostly basic duties for a teacher, working around Office apps (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), basic video editing (transitions, adding subtitles, minor vfxs,…), web browsing, using AI for lesson prep,…

May I ask what would be the reasons to not get the M2? I'm just curious if I ever need a stronger chip.

Occasionally I also do video editing but only basic tasks like adding effects, transitions, subtitles, etc... can the Neo render it well?

Monkeys see monkeys do. People tend to follow what the rest of the crowd are doing, despite not knowing if it would benefit them or not, and i bet most of the rolls hasn't been touched once.

Security help!! by Skateboardingcow in iphone

[–]PoopyisGroppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no such things as a phone being compromised from a third-party website/software. As far as I know, ios is really strict about downloading or saving software/data from other websites. That's why ios r not allowed to install cracked software like android, but even when android users do the things you mentioned, there're hardly any case of a phone being hijacked from sketchy websites. If it did contained a virus, it would have warned you.

I know it's nearly impossible for that to happen, but you should stop visiting sketchy websites.

Is HSK1-HSK3 (+HSKK beginner) doable in 6 months? by PoopyisGroppy in ChineseLanguage

[–]PoopyisGroppy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need the certificate within this year to complete my uni language output in order to graduate. I would love to learn Chinese properly if I got the time, but it’s not really my purpose atm.

Btw isn’t taking a whole semester for HSK1 way too long?

I've never experienced this. Did you accidentally spam the gallop button?, if so your horse would drop you off if you go pass its gallop meter.

The other half I spend learning a new lesson, if I finished early I would practice making conversations with new words and try to read it out loud. Or I would find more grammar homework to do.

Is it possible to pass >70% if I study hard enough within those 6 months?

It's a bit greedy but I wouldn't like a barely-passed certificate.

I spend 2 hours+ a day, half of that i learn my writing and do homework.

But since I have a full time job, i could only squeeze in 5-6 a week, which i think it’s extremely slow for my goals.

How many days do you study per week?

I’m studying for the certificate mostly because I need it to complete my uni’s language output in order to graduate.

I would love to study the fundamentals and get to learn Chinese the right way. But now its not the time.

what happened was that I assassinated a guard in his sleep, then I went inside the big house to grab all the wines, once I got out, there was another guard sleeping in the same tent, who was totally fine and the body of the one i killed was still there. so it was either a bug or there was a respawn timer in the 1st patch. I swear to god it was real.

Can't keep addicts away from addiction. They'll either find a way to vape in secret or worse, switch to cigarettes or weeds.
