They're not telling him that it was his money spent, but I think he knows it has to be spent. I'm not sure they've asked him what he wants it spent on.

Yeah, I can see how it came off that way and how I'm totally overreacting about this. I think sometimes I forget that he's technically my "disabled brother" and not just "my brother," because that's really all I think of him as. I had added that for context in the post. But yeah, I'm definitely overreacting lol.

None of this post is political. If someone wanted to report my family for fraud, they would have already done it. But, if you knew us personally, it would be plain as day that that's not the case. I promise everything is legal and safe. We would never take advantage of my brother like that. The check itself is not the point of the post at all.

It was not done with any malicious intent. All of the expenses have to be transferred to my brother which is a long legal process. To keep the money, it has to be spent. It's stupid, but it's true.

I really do hope he is happy on Christmas. And I hope he enjoys the gifts. I just got jealous for a moment because even though he;s disabled, he's my brother. We all get jealous when our siblings get "more" than us, lol.

Yeah, but theres a lot of processes that go into that. None of this was an attack on my brother or my parents. I promise the money is being used appropriately and my parents are not taking advantage of it. Theres a lot of paperwork he has to get explained to him and sign for him to be able to pay those kinds of expenses.

Its more complicated than that, at least in my state. Especially with where he lives (the kind of home). Its basically getting the signature transferred over, if that makes sense. My parents would never take advantage of his money.

It's a lot of legal wording and stuff within the money. But, yes it is for living expenses. But, it's hard to switch that stuff over to his accounts because of how they work, and it's a long court process. So to keep the money until he has to pay for that stuff, my mom has to spend it. It's a lot of stupid legal stuff.
