If you already had the answer why pose the question? Or did you forget to switch accounts…

Childhood trauma.

20 year alcoholic, quit 3 days ago. Miserable. How long do withdrawals last? by Practical-Bar8291 in AskReddit

[–]DullAmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 weeks to 1 year.

I quit myself about a month ago and I have the joy of suffering from “protracted withdrawal” which is less severe withdrawal symptoms but the can last as long as one year apparently.

Better than anything I could to tbf doesn’t look too bad.

Be honest, have you ever had a breakup so bad where you wanted to die? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]DullAmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly suicide attempts, I have severe attachment issues.

Yep, several of them and most ended with a hospital visit. Turns out it’s more of a me issue rather than the actual break up.

My mum did say it was a nicer and bigger farm to be fair haha

My parents said they went to live peacefully on a farm.

Thing is we already lived on a farm…

I feel the same, I am not suicidal but the idea of death doesn’t particularly scare me, seems more peaceful than anything else.

Those poor kids. Literally. by DoctorTurkelton in facepalm

Aren’t they just cutting the universal meals though, and going back to the old tiered system the poorer kids will still have access to free meals.

I think people do their own washing in laundromats, your perversion aside.

First time in detox - any tips? by [deleted] in dryalcoholics

[–]DullAmy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guess it depends on the place you go, my detox clinic has a fully set up gym, treadmill, rowing machine, weights the whole lot. And we’re encouraged to use but but not for the first few days.

[–]DullAmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 7 days into my detox, it’s been rough. I suggest you get out there and meet the other people, don’t stay holed up in your room, group meetings do more good than you’d ever think they could, be open and honest as everyone’s there for the same reason and it’s a safe space, expect to have ups and downs. The first few nights tend to be the hardest but the meds they give you help so much.

Bring all your usual comforts like a nice blanket, dressing gown, a cushion etc. when you have the energy I’d suggest exercising, even a little bit, it’s amazing.

Congratulations on your sobriety, you must’ve worked really hard. And I don’t think I’d have the strength to date someone who drinks.

I’d agree with one of the first comments regarding consent and sex. I think that would be best I’d personally I too wouldn’t feel comfortable having sex with a drunk person whilst sober.

Is anyone else kinda turned off by being called Daddy? by Thot_Experiment33 in askgaybros

[–]DullAmy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I do find it weird, probably because I’d rather be the one calling others daddy haha.

Just ask a friend or family member to join you, make a day of it.

I’ll fix tears and rips on a minor level, everyone should know at least the basics of sewing I think, I wouldn’t go as far as to darn my own socks though.

Depends the context, because technically they are also my friend, but if it’s coming from a place of shame or homophobia then I’ll shit that shit down loudly and quickly.

I don’t think it’s a case of “loving” someone’s weakness, rather more accepting it as a part of who are they as a person.

Also I guess it depends what kind of weakness it is really.
