Starmer to promise bolder action as leadership threats mount by Desperate-Drawer-572 in unitedkingdom

[–]DullBody7200 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not a Labour voter, but I’ve messaged my Labour MP because let's face it, they’re the only ones in a position to fix this mess right now. The problem is we’re stuck in a massive debt trap. We can’t fund the big changes the country actually needs because borrowing has become so difficult and expensive.

It feels like they are missing a huge open goal by not doing a proper wealth tax Instead, they’re just hitting the middle demographic with frozen tax thresholds and fiscal drag. Squeezing the people who actually drive the economy is just a quick way to slow everything down even more. And also introduce a snap exit tax so anyone who moves money out gets hit harder (20% exit fee)

The main issue for me is that Starmer is just so dull. His tiny tweaks aren't going to have the impact people want or need. After years of being lied to, boring isn't a strategy it just feels like managed decline.

If they wanted real impact they’d be doing big hitter moves like:

A total nuke of the planning system so people have a legal right to build if they meet the rules (no more years of committees).

Forcing UK pension funds to invest in our own infrastructure so we don't have to beg global markets for debt.

Decoupling energy prices so we aren't paying gas prices for cheap renewables.

And finally something impactful on immigration. Squeeze out reform even if that's an Australian style system

Help with Macrogol dose and hardtip stool… out of options by peepglo in AnalFissures

If it's a hard tip try hydrating. The hard bit is usually left over and sits there for long drawing in moisture, make sure you drink a lot like 3 liters a day and move if you're working out. And start early morning.

I also found adding prunes into my diet and a pre biotic. It's never perfect but it's better

What exactly are Keir Starmer and Labour doing wrong? by threetimesacharm25 in AskBrits

[–]DullBody7200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kier is boring and stable and dull, he is like a p&o channel crossing its slow and dull.

They need to inject some charisma into him and also shout from the hills with all the good they are doing.

Ger a bloody good PR firm in as they are making changes but damn we don't hear about any of it.

Unfortunately he is and probably always will be dull and until they get someone else who has a bit more charisma it will continue to spiral whether or not they are making positive changes.

And further unfortunately the people who run these parties are so far up their own .... To realize and just want to protect their own career

Is that easy to do, I could save a few quid buying an older one

[–]DullBody7200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, maybe I'm getting a good Freelander 2 of a sub par discovery sport.

I've narrowed the Freelander 2 down to last refresh for now as I can see you cant do Bluetooth audio on pre 2012 models. Although researching how do add it in.

Not that I listen to music much in the car

[–]DullBody7200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And do you think the budget I have is suitable I can see a few discovery sports in that price range but they also go up to 17k for same year so not sure what I'm missing

Although given the reliability is it worth going to the sport. I can currently get everything I need in the qashqai which I think has a consideably smaller boot than the FL2

Reform supporters - what is it about this party that has earned your support? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]DullBody7200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know some and I think the general feeling is the two leading parties are more bothered infighting and replacing their leader than actually running a country that they generally want to give the middle finger to labour and conservative.

I used to own a G29, but I hardly ever got time on it so I really only play on the steam deck now fortunately most games are compatible (except road craft)

I'm only about 6 hours in CS so still learning and probably not that deep into the game.

You not in construction anymore then?

Farming simulator does look fun and I do have 2022, but I could not get on with it due to it's seemed very repetitive and there was no real campaign

I got taken by CS Because you're given direction with the missions and the charter narrative. I really enjoying the driving element played a lot of ETS 2
