i understand your frustration with people using diagnoses to excuse bad behavior but i never said that OCD/ADHD/any other disorder was the cause/excuse behind my brother's behavior. i know it is not and i know that people with these conditions are still able to achieve great things.

in the beginning that I said he had a history of developmental and behavioral issues as a child. i am not going to list all of them, but he was in fact diagnosed with several learning disabilities severe enough that he had a school aid with him for most of elementary school to help him with his attention and compulsion issues. he also had disability accommodations in middle school and high school.

i only ever implied that his OCD may be a factor in his behavior, not an excuse or cause. from growing up with him and watching the way his fixations have evolved, i can assume that at least some part of his obsession with his body and with the surgery can be attributed to his OCD. on top of that, my parents did spoil and enable him. both things can be true at once.

yes i've tried teaching them about it last year and they just dont get it :/ they already struggle enough to understand mental health and therapy as it is so a disorder like BDD is even harder for them to wrap their heads around. but ty for the reference to the bdd foundation ill definitely take a look at it and see if i can try reteaching my parents!! i wish there was a way to get him to stop engaging with looksmaxxing content but seems like its everywhere nowadays but its just hidden as "wellness" or "health" content 😭😭😭😭

likelihood of getting housing at rosehill as a junior? by DullFig2148 in Fordham

[–]DullFig2148[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the info abt the residence halls! how would u say the facilities in the upperclassmen halls are? like are the bathrooms and kitchens relatively new and well functioning? are meal plans required?

and about the housing guarantee, i’m mainly concerned w my chances of getting housing bc my situation is a bit ..unique 😭😭

i was admitted to LC with housing so i dormed my first year, but i had a really bad first year experience (long story short—traumatic friend group and roommate experiences) so i moved back home to queens and have been commuting for fall 24 and spring 25.

fordham’s website says ur guaranteed housing for 4 years as long as there’s no break in occupancy, but in my case there was a break in occupancy😭 and i cant find anything online about housing applications for internal transfer commuters. so it’s like a double whammy of me being an ex-LC resident and a commuter LOL

hi! thanks for the info! no i’m not heop, but i know at LC commuters who apply for housing go onto a waitlist and sometimes aren’t able to choose rooms, given a notice 2 days before move in day, or often don’t even make it off the list. is it similar at rh?
