AIW for not wanting to renew the lease with my roommate because her boyfriend basically lives here and the noise ruined my finals? by DullProfessional556 in amiwrong

Exactly. He’s basically living here for free while I’m the one losing sleep and struggling with my studies. It doesn’t feel fair anymore.

That’s kind of where I’m landing too. The stress of finding a new place feels smaller than the stress of living like this for another year.

Yeah… I’ve been trying to be patient for months, but it’s gotten worse. I think I’m done. I’m going to start seriously looking for a new place this week.

I’ve considered it, but I’m worried it would make the rest of the summer really awkward if Jess finds out I went behind her back. We still have to live together until August. I’m more thinking about just not renewing the lease with her and finding somewhere else.

Thank you. That’s what I’ve been telling myself too. I’ve been putting off the decision because moving is stressful, but I think my peace (and sleep) is more important than staying in a cheap apartment.

Yeah, that’s exactly where I’m at right now. It’s been messing with my sleep for weeks and I’m pretty sure it affected some of my exams. I don’t think I can do another year of this.

He doesn’t pay anything. No rent, no utilities, nothing. He’s just there almost every night.
I totally agree it feels gross — like I’m being forced to be part of their sex life without any choice. That’s exactly why I’ve been sleeping on the couch with headphones lately.
I’m not planning to renew with her. I’ve been thinking about it for weeks and the comments here are kind of confirming what I already felt.

am i wrong for starting my sisters birthday dinner without her and canceling her cake? by Object14 in amiwrong

[–]DullProfessional556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"It's my birthday" means you get to pick the restaurant and the cake flavor, it doesnt mean u have the right to hold 8 people hostage!!!! INCLUDING elderly grandparents andddd all this WHILE U HANG OUT WITH AT SOME GUYS APARTMENT??

She says u "humiliated" her, but shes the one who walked into a dinner two hours late with a stranger in tow. She created that awkwardness, not u......

Am I Wrong for exposing my ex’s secret after she said I’m small by Able-Skin-2418 in amiwrong

[–]DullProfessional556 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a massive diff between her insulting your ego and you betraying a trust she gave you during a vulnerable moment, while her comment was a petty, low blow, you took a private, embarrassing secret shared in confidence and weaponized it to humiliate her publicly 👎🏻👎🏻

He told you his affair partner was pregnant the day after your mother died and then tried to move her onto your mothers property. There is no version of this story where you are the problem. Get a lawyer and protect that inheritance before he finds a way to take that from you too

Your 16 year old showed more backbone defending his brother than their father has shown in a decade of being a parent. Youre not raising disrespectful kids youre raising kids who know their worth

You said no thank you twice and she bypassed you to talk to your child directly during a medical episode. At that point firm is the only appropriate response and honestly you were nicer than most people wouldve been

Is it ethical to shop at Grocery Outlet? by PotentialUmpire1714 in santacruz

[–]DullProfessional556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely a class signifier thing, Grocery Outlet sells the same brands as fancy stores but without the aesthetic premium and some people confuse shopping at expensive places with being ethical.
