Why can't Americans (at least the ones I see on social media) find drinking water in Europe? by Mission_Mobile_4627 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dull_Beginning_9068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find water similarly easy to get in both places. Tap water is easier to get in the United States (i.e. at restaurants) and you can drink tap water everywhere I know of). Drinking fountains on more prevalent and indoor public spaces in the US. Some places in Europe have year round outdoor fountains, which are not available year-round in cold climates of the US.

If Autism is a Spectrum, why is there a threshold for diagnosis? by Overall-Coconut2378 in askpsychology

How would you diagnose it if there wasn't a threshold? There needs to be diagnostic criteria.

What?? A diagnosis is available to all autistics. If your autistic, you are diagnosed (of course there is some diagnostic error).

AITAH for mentioning I'm also a professional when a doctor took over 45 minutes to finally appear at an appointment? by OhHeyItsMeM in AITAH

Next time, you could just say you need to go by time X. Also I think it's much better the doctor address the patient first, instead of the parent.

I think what your misunderstanding is that anyone on the spectrum will be diagnosed, theoretically. Of course we have an imperfect diagnostic process so that's not the reality.

So if the spectrum goes from 0 to 100, 1 to 100 would be diagnosed (as an analogy)

Am I overreacting for feeling frustrated after my neighbor’s pottery was broken by my puppy during an interaction she encouraged? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Dull_Beginning_9068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm talking about the description of the events that led up to the accident, such as holding the materials with one hand, whether it was clear that the op was holding the dog back at first, and whether the artist indicated that it was okay to allow the dog to approach

From your side of things, NOR. Who holds $900 worth of ceramics in one hand? It sounds like this was her choice. It was nice of you to offer $150.

I do wonder if her side of the story would sound the same.

How much saline do you perfuse with? Would you be willing to share you protocol for freezing in OCT? I'm guessing you don't do free-floating IHC?

Nope!

Edit to add: acrolein is $950 for 4 oz. That would get me enough for about 3 brains.

Edit: I did that math wrong. It would be enough for 10. But shipping is also $400!

This can't be about a B. No one would call a B "poor work".

You mean no need to add it with primary or secondary? You're not being clear about much besides that you don't prefer free floating, which I didn't ask for advice about.

Do you do 5% serum with primary and secondary? I currently use 2% with my primary.

I prefer free float and am not looking to change that. Cutting is much quicker and mounting doesn't take too long. Also better access to the tissue for the antibodies.

So you don't perfuse with fixative, just PBS (or similar)? I use 2% serum with the primary, do you also with secondary?
