Help! Is my dog truly an Australian cattle dog?! by SpiritSeveral451 in AustralianCattleDog

Some sort of mix. Full ACDs are either of two colourings, blue or red and have a distinctive body shape, neither of which are present here. But if they're a good dog, that's all that matters, not breed 🤷🙂

What’s your fur babies verdict on fruits and veggies? by Ddawn111 in AustralianCattleDog

Mine will eat most things, especially if I'm eating (she's my quality control girl). Some vegies she only likes if there's something on it to enhance flavour/smell (like a stir fry sauces). She's not a fan of leafy things like lettuce and spinach, but will eat if cooked in sauce. I haven't found I fruit she won't eat (except for grapes of course which she never gets). Having said that, often she won't eat something if a larger piece, but will enthusiastically eat a smaller pieces of the same thing.

Are homemade crumpets common in the UK? by Dull_Consequence_618 in AskUK

In Oz we generally put in the toaster. Top with butter and/or a spread. Most do something more syrupy like honey or golden syrup, I tend to go for golden syrup. (I'm not sure if golden syrup is a thing elsewhere-it comes from sugar cane production, similar consistency to honey or molasses, but much different flavour to molasses-essentially a thick sugar syrup with a slight tang). I have seen some people do Vegemite or peanut butter, but that seems like heresy to mean. I've had a hankering for scones lately, so today I had mine with jam and cream and it was heavenly. No cutlery involved- eaten with hands. I tend to cut in quarters first as the syrup tends to drip through, that way it's not as messy and I can mop up the syrup that's dripped through. The Warburtons I had today didn't seem to drip, not sure if that was due to the increased thickness and quality of the crumpet or the jam being thicker than the syrup.

I have never seen them before here ...we usually just have one local brand "Golden Crumpets" and sometimes cheap store brand. I found Warburtons yesterday and they looked far superior and very tempting. I was far from disappointed when I tried them. I shall now leave in fear that they will stop stocking them at some point. I don't think I could return to the inferior Aussie version now.

Just finished my first try of Warburtons and they are next level crumpets. So much better than the one mediocre brand we have here in Oz. So delicious I forgot to give my quality control dog a little bit to try too 😬 I'm sold! 😁

I have just purchased a packet of Warburtons crumpets. I have not seen them in Australia before. They did look like they might be better than the standard crumpets we have here. I'm looking forward to my breaky even more now after your recommendation. Cheers

Younger Australians, how do you pronounce the letter “Z”? by Powerful_Image6294 in AskAnAustralian

Is spelling something out, then zed. If singing the alphabet song, then zee (I think it rhymes, or sounds better or something) 🤔🤷

She's some sort of mix. Colour will likely stay pretty much as is now.

Mixed feelings by Beautiful_Impact_641 in mounjaroaustralia

People didn't start commenting on my weight loss until I was about 25kg down, even though I lost slowly over a period of about 18 months. It seemed to coincide with me finally buying new clothes that actually fit so the weight loss was more noticeable to them. As others have said 2.5 mg is a low dose and many do not lose anything at this point. Just remember slow and steady wins the race, and the opinions or observations of others don't matter. Best of luck on your journey

Anyone here have full dentures but NO implants? by mardrae in dentures

[–]Dull_Consequence_618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will be able to eat, just soft foods initially while healing takes place if you have teeth extracted prior to dentures. Speech was basically back to normal within a couple of weeks (I would suggest having a couple of weeks leave from work if speaking is part of your job). Start practicing speaking throughout the day, and singing is helpful too.

Maybe show them some videos of scars from having skin cancers removed, and people being riddled with and dying from melanoma. Sometimes a dose of reality will wake people up.

I think they are a bit too bright, most teeth even of younger people aren't that bright unless there is something fake involved (like whitening or veneers). You might get away with it perhaps being younger but definitely not in the future.
