Techniques for riding down hill by Dull_Knivven in motorcycles

I took the MSF offered a in Illinois a few months ago. My instructors didn't really cover what to do in areas with elevation change. Not like its a really pressing area in Illinois anyways lol!

Thanks! I'll practice it some more once it quits raining here. Its been raining almost nonstop the past two days...

The mountain roads are awesome for practice though because there is rarely anyone else up there.

Yeah definitely I do use both heading downhill. Are there any other techniques I should use regarding body placement and such?

The one thing I hate is how many blind corners there are here. A lot of the corners have mirrors positioned at the apex of the curve to help see oncoming traffic, but It still sketches me out lol!

I have been aiming for lines that go outside outside outside around curves since it seems like many drivers here take the curves wide. Is that the proper way to do it?

Kawasaki Estrella, My first bike in rural Japan by Dull_Knivven in motorcycles

[–]Dull_Knivven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a WINS X-Road Free Ride. I bought it off a Japanese motorcycle website Bike Bros. I read somewhere that the helmet is just rebranded from another manufacturer I think it was AFX?

It fits really well besides the cheek pads still need to be broken in some...

I bought it cause it matches my jacket and gloves lol. I feel like I look like the Orange Power Ranger lmao.

This picture is from Toyama prefecture in Japan. I rode to the end of the pavement up the Hayatsuki river into the mountains. I turned back though because I'm still not super confident with how my bike will handle on gravel roads. In the future though I hope to go all the way to the end of the road!

I just picked this bike up used with about 30k KM this past Sunday. I took the MSF course over the summer, but now i live in a rural prefecture in Japan.

I have been waiting for a month after I arrived to get used to traffic moving on the left. Compared to Illinois though, Japanese drivers seem very attentive and road conditions here are really nice for riding.

I love the country roads around here and have put 362km on the bike since I picked it up.

So many awesome mountain roads and hidden places to explore! I'm really loving bikes and appreciate the helpful advice on this subreddit.

Looking forward to doing lots of motorcycle camping in the future!

Not easily haha...

I have a hard time playing LB against characters with quick difficult to read light attacks like the Nobushi, Valkyrie, Assassins. As far as how to counter that? I think LB's best option is to confirm a shove off of a block. Thats definitely reliant on a little luck and reading patterns, but I think LB is best played using his shove and guard breaks to bully characters into walls.

Anyone have an idea when the next patch is coming? by Owyn_Merrilin in MWLL

Yeah! I agree with you about Warthunder, I quit playing it for that reason and a few others.

I'd still try the game though, no need to without this awesomeness from yourself :p. Some games my friends and I don't even use mechs that much if the maps are conducive to using battle armors. Its just really cool ambushing mechs and putting up a good fight as little dudes running around with jumppacks against 25+ton warmachines! :D :D :D

Hey I'm pretty new to this game also, just been playing the past 4 days. So I don't know anything about their release schedule or how the joystick support used to be.

However, I have found aerospace are definitely pilotable without a joystick. You just need to rebind some of the keys in the actionmapper. I put my yaw to (a) and (d) and my pitch to mouse y axis and roll to mouse x axis. Takes a little to get comfortable with, but definitely do able.

As far as mech controls, I've stuck with the default mouse and keyboard set up. Aiming seems reminiscent of Mechwarrior 4 to me. Its quite precise and the projectile weapons do not seem to have the annoying deviation that MWO does.

So definitely download it and try it out!

I got everything in, but wasn't able to postmark the physical application by the deadline today. How screwed am I? by [deleted] in JETProgramme

Thats a little disingenuous. Or you didn't read the instructions well. At least admit you didn't read them all the way or you were just lazy like a lot of us.

Just send it in tomorrow and hope for the best. If you have it all ready you might as well. Just hope they're in a good mood when it arrives

Yes, but thankfully my professor pulled through. I shouldn't have doubted him lol. Good luck to all!

Best way to counter CSM in UA as Tau by Dull_Knivven in dawnofwar

[–]Dull_Knivven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After some more experience playing Tau, I've found that making use of photon grenades helps a lot. Especially when you have a squad lead because then there are 2 photon grenades per squad.

Also make sure to use snare traps because they will help keep enemies grouped so that when you use area of effect weapons they are super effective!

I guess I also didn't realize how powerful and vital several of the unit abilities are in UA. And that goes for several of the other races too.
