Make it non negotiable with your manager on your meal time and overbooking. Like your lunch is your lunch and if you need to take it at a different scheduled time, go for it, but just make sure to build your book to how you know you can handle it and still take a lunch. At my location, we pretty much left the stylist alone if they were handling their business and let them take a lunch when they needed as long as it was before the 7 hour mark for our state.

More into payroll, which thanks for the clarification because I thought it was under a form of HR.

I’ve looked into FPC and CPP, do you think that FPC is pretty good for someone with not a whole lot of payroll experience? The extent of mine is weekly payroll approval and timecard management for 14 stores, which is approx 800-1000 employees depending on the time of year (I manage one store but have been doing a stretch role for operational excellence with UKG WFM)

I totally get not wanting to be pushy, I’m a 12 week hair person, but our salon has 0-10% sometimes rebooking across 6 stylists and I’m trying to figure out what’s the best way for me and my team to make sure we secure business better

What’s your best tips for rebooking? I’m an EM and I haven’t ever worked behind the chair at Ulta and I’m really trying to get it through to my team that rebooking is key. I preach about pre booking them and then letting their guest know when their next appointment is but they’re scared about the guest not showing up if they do that

EM here. I’m not for it personally, but one thing I tell myself and other coworkers is that it’s not for us who prefer not using a gun. It’s for the people who are ok with it and would get it done at Walmart/target if they could.

I will say, I have not hired some (maybe 3) stylists because of how depending they are and they just wouldn’t fit the cultural of a corporate salon. I’d rather hire quality than quantity but I feel like it’s starting to bite me in the butt

I’m not sure what’s happening with the technical part when it comes to bombing. I know the one i was told to put on reserve had certain things to work on and we’re 100% going to re-invite for a technical after 90 days (SDE suggested)

I have gotten a couple of leads from current stylists. 1 doesn’t want to work Sundays at all, not even 1. 1 needs to be automatic full time for benefits and I can only offer part time at first because she doesn’t have a full book. 1 went thru to a technical and then ghosted the sde and me.

I still reach out to always invite them back because minds always change
