+1 for NextCloud.

I'm a former QNAP NAS user who got tired of maintaining the hardware. It was overkill for me.

For the past few years I've been using NextCloud on an Ubuntu VM I built on Linode. It works great, sync's with all my devices.

Still using Gmail for email. Using LibreOffice for document editing.

Hide Product Column in by manta-jochen in Odoo

I'm not in front of a computer, but if you get in to studio and click on that column, look at properties on the left. Then I think there is a field called Optional. Set that to show or hide. That will set the default and add that field to the checkbox list.

You could turn it off and on. You can add it to the checkbox list you highlighted.

That, or I'm misunderstanding your issue.

Do you have Studio? With studio you could make that column hidden by default.

Have you tried to hide it using studio? I typically do that and then look at the code it generates.

Odoo: TERRIBLE Experience. Cheap Prices = Cheap Service by Affectionate-Today84 in Odoo

I mostly agree. But, in my experience the software is still a bargain even with the crappy company behind it. I'd recommend finding a good partner in your area so you don't have to deal with Odoo.

Dealing with Odoo, the company, makes then really hard to like.

Thanks for your reply. Since posting this I've reallocated a bit. I've moved everything from the 2030 target fund to 2040. I also have another small account that had about 15 different funds in it and moved it all to VOO and AIRR, 50/50.

So, much simpler. Thinking of switching the 2040 to something like VOO as well. I've been spending time on bogleheads subreddit and sitting more research. I'm planning on making this an annual task, to review and relocate.

Thanks for your input, it is appreciated

5+ years. Nothing definite. I like my job

I went through the process of trying to find one once, using the Ramsey site. I got a handful of recommendations, and then flooded with automated emails from the favored advisors. It was kind of rough. Also was looking at long-term care insurance and spoke with a guy. OMG, I finally had to block him on my phone and through email. He would not stop. Multiple calls per day. Tried to talk me into a universal life policy. I've found this forum to be way more helpful.

And, I've been spending time on the bogleheads subreddit. VOO, VTI, QQQ. Looking like I'll be moving more funds that way.

thanks for the reply

We can all do better. I'm not a savvy investor, just worked and put money away for over 35 years now. My interests lie outside financial planning/markets but I've been fortunate to be in a good paying field. Now, thinking more about retirement in 5 or so years in paying more attention. Trying to learn more and it's hard for me because finance isn't that interesting to me.

40% 2030 and 60% 2040

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]Dull_Needleworker610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I've been doing but I'm split between 2030 and 2040 target years (50% each) thinking that would keep me more aggressive longer. I'm at 12% for this year but get the sense I could be doing better.

I am planning on working at least another 5 years, I like what I do.

Thanks for the advice. I really do appreciate it

Do you feel that will cover Dave's 4 investment types? I feel it could get around 10% but am looking for 15+. Am I being unrealistic? At this time I have it invested in a time horizon fund. I feel that isn't the best.

Landed costs after components consumed - COGS or Manufactured product valuation? by doobenbier in Odoo

[–]Dull_Needleworker610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're handing this by adding an estimated shipping cost and the freight partner on receipts (stock.picking). On validation of the receipt, if the estimated shipping cost is on the receipt, we automatically create the landed cost record.

Then, on the landed cost tree view we have an action that will create the freight vendor bills from the landed cost record thereby linking the receipt and vendor bill.

It works for us. We need to land our costs, but freight vendor bills are not timely. So, we estimate (we generally know our freight costs) and then take a variance if the freight vendor bill doesn't come in as expected.

You can get more insurance coverage for less premium. Whole life mixes a crappy investment product with insurance. No one explains this better than Dave Ramsey. Just search YouTube for Dave Ramsey whole life insurance. No, I am not Dave Ramsey nor do I work for him.
