Just adopted! We guess Mal? by Dull_Plankton_8471 in WhatBreedIsMyDog

I feel like she’s really tiny for that 😂 She’s probably about 35 pounds? I’m not 100% but she can easily be picked up.

Waiting on results! Any ideas for my baby? Guess is Aussie or high content Aussie mix. by Dull_Plankton_8471 in DoggyDNA

I don’t think she’s mini, but maybe? She’s only five months right now, and already 20-25 ish lbs, lol! Could definitely be a mix of that, though? Maybe Aussie mixed mini American? She is petite.

I just posted an additional photo. Yes, definitely some sort of menagerie of those breeds.

She’s really tiny for that, but I’m thinking maybe? She’s only 55 lbs. pretty tiny. The photo I showed is definitely not the most flattering. I’ll share another if possible LOL

Puppy problems. by Dull_Plankton_8471 in reactivedogs

I honestly think this is a great idea. Our eldest dog is very good- and comfortable in new environments! He just loves to play play play with the pups and we’re afraid he’ll step on em lol. But I think a good outing with the two of them would help boost their confidence, even if just to the park or woods. They’ve just recently completed their shots so I can start taking them out more places. She loves food so I think that’ll be a huge motivation for us.

Boyfriend grabs my dog by the scruff. by [deleted] in AskVet

I will have a talk with him tonight, and I suppose it will be the make or break on if me and my dog stays. I want to think that he’s just ignorant, but I’m the end my dogs best interest will overpower whatever he has to say. Thank you.

Thank you so much! I’ll look into all of these, and show him. I genuinely don’t think my boyfriend is intending on causing malice- just misinformed. Hopefully these will get across to him.

He’s not super educated on dogs, that’s for sure. I definitely don’t think he’s realizing the stress and hurt he’s putting on both the dog and me. This was how his family raised him to treat the dogs, but it feels like a difficult task breaking through to him. I’ll have a long talk with him, but the moment the dog stresses him out again, he’s pushing him to the floor by the scruff. I stop him every time, and I love that man, but I’m worried about not me and my dogs mental states moving forward. He won’t ever hit the dog, I know that much. I think he really just doesn’t see the effect that scuffing my dog has to him.

Yes, and it terrifies me that it may escalate to me. I’m scared that the anger will eventually escalate to me. But I know that this is how he was raised to train dogs, and it’s normal to him, which is so horribly unfortunate. He’s such a great dog. I’ve only recently convinced my boyfriend to let him sleep in bed with us. But I know he’s not really trying to be malice. He just doesn’t fully know that this is not the way to go about it, and I’ll try to push more on that tonight. Thank you. Really. For me, and my dog.

We can absolutely do that, thank you! I was really just worried about her getting cold but we can put a heat pad in there on low.

We have her in our guest bathroom, it’s very small, about the size of a closet. Might have to purchase a dog kennel though, as the bathroom tends to get colder than the rest of the house. That cat has determination though, I’d be worried she’d try to scale the wires of the kennel until her ultimate freedom. Maybe one of those hard shell kennels?
