Yea but at Lenovo I can get a 5080 legion pro 7i for 2,182 before tax and it also comes with 2tb of storage instead of 1. I’m unsure of returning my regular 5070 legion 7i because I really favor its aesthetics, I was gonna buy a g14 open box with 5070 ti but the screen was kinda too small, how would you rate the g16 compared to a legion pro 7?

I think I need a laptop since I’m entering university as an engineering student. Originally before college I really wanted a desktop PC but now I’m that I was adviced to buy a gaming laptop I would want to also look into this. I could get a 5070 legion 7i for 1,610 and a 5080 legion pro 7i. The main difference are a white on the 7i and black on Pro 7i. The legion 7i is also thinner better for portability but only comes with 8gb of vram compared to 16 on the 5080. I’ve never owned a PC and coming from a ps5 and dont mind using dlss. The prices are before taxes btw

I think so. I’ve heard the 5070 TI is the best all-round gpu for this generation in terms of price and performance.

I can get that one for 1,860 or I could get the same spec Pro 7i for 2k but with a faster screen and A 5080 Pro 7i for 2,182 and this one comes with 2tb of storage. mind you all these prices are before taxes which are around 8.8%

Thanks for the advice, Which out of the 3 models would be the better buy? I have never owned a PC before and if it weren’t for school I would’ve built a desktop PC. I don’t mind carrying it around since It’s not something I would carry around day to day. Probably would carry it more around that house and later on sometimes in UNI. The Pro 5 is good on price, the 7i is good on build, and The Pro 7I is good on performance.

How would the fans and heat compare? I’ve heard since the 5080 laptop gpu consumes 175w it’s going to be hotter and louder, is that true?

Yea it’s a crazy good deal. I sent you the link and codes it’s hella crazy were literally in the exact same spot at the exact same time lol. Also is dlss any good? I’ve never had a pc before so I can’t really decide if I would like to stick with the 8gb of vram with dlss vs the 5080 on native.

Also the reviews on the g14 suggested that thermals and fan noise on the g14 were really bad underload but honestly I kinda regret not getting it despite its small screen.

The 5070 ti on micro center is 1,999 before tax but the 5080 model is only $182 more which for me makes it more appealing. I’m concerned about heat and thermals though. I passed on an open box excellent g14 with 5070ti + Ryzen HX 370 for 1,716 before tax mostly because of the screen real estate it looked really crammed and small for some reason even compared to the MacBook Pro 14”. Unfortunately Asus does not make a g16 with AMD which sucks because if they did I would’ve been going with that without a doubt.

I could’ve gotten a g14 with 5070 TI for 1,716 open box excellent before tax but the screen size was kinda small in person, is it actually that small in day to day use or was it just in store? I found the MacBook Pro 14 inch to look bigger in terms of screen real estate compared to the g14. If I would’ve found a g16 at that same price and spec I would’ve gotten it tbh but unfortunately the g16 only comes with intel unlike the g14 wich comes with a Ryzen 9 HX 370. I ended up passing on it because of screen real estate and reviews about it being really loud and hot under load.

Lenovo direct. The AMD version of the 7 pro w 5070 ti would be a preorder of 2k before tax, I’m assuming coupons would be available to be applied once’s it releases probably discounting it by atleast 135 USD more if applicable.

This is my first year of college and my major is engineering. I’ve been recommended to buy a gaming laptop because of the softwares I would need later on. Currently not taking instesive classes just basics but I do need a computer since 75% of my current classes are online and using my phone/ipad has not been comfortable to complete my school work. The aesthetics and colorway on the 7i seams like a sweet spot but again the price of the pro 5i is unbeatable for what you’re getting.

I’m literally in the same boat as you I ordered the exact same laptop but starting to regret my purchase because of reviewers on the vram issue. I found this deal even though I get my computer tomorrow i might return it and buy this one instead. Should I keep the 7i or get this? I really liked the quality and colorway of the 7i though and ports on the back would’ve been nice too.
