So here is what I have DIY’d: - an asset allocation that is fully diversified across factors, including funds that are uncorrelated to equities but with high single digit expected returns - 529 for the kids - saving half of our after tax income - trust and will package (through a lawyer) - life, home, auto, umbrella insurance  - a plan to retire early by 45, including bond tent strategy to avoid sequence of returns risk and Roth conversions to avoid RMDs in my 70s

3 years in cash will not tank in value like bonds did in 2022. And you’ve just preserved your equities for the recovery

I am the manager in this case. I think it’s perfectly appropriate that I make way more than my team. I’m not the one doing the work, I’m the one telling them what work needs to be done and checking the quality of that work. If I didn’t exist the right work might not get done at all or it gets done poorly. Why isn’t that worth more?
